Just a quick message from The Damned in the wake of all the drama...

As a new guild we are currently small and are working on expanding over time. We believe in quality over quantity and want dedicated people who want to experience fun and exciting roleplay. With that out of the way I have a quick message to everyone in every community that exists on this God forsaken shard.

We will roleplay with anyone that wishes to enjoy the game. We don’t care about past histories or problems (though we try to avoid anything that will cause us problems). We don’t believe in entirely scripted roleplay where outcomes cannot change or random events cannot pop up. We don’t dismiss reds as potential roleplayers, we don’t care about who owns what piece of land. I returned to UO, not with the intention of creating a guild but with the intention of having fun. As I slowly started getting involved with the community again some old friends and some new friends both approached me and were approached by me to create something fun, something with ties to past roleplay but something that wasn’t bogged down by past roleplay either. I am in this community to enjoy myself and it is truly a shame to have to be careful about talking to person X because it may offend person Y.

If you have problems with someone deal with them in private. If you hate interacting with someone, don’t interact with them. But please, for all that is freaking right and just in this universe, don’t expect everyone to always agree with you. EVERY person in this community has their own opinions, own rivals, people they don’t like and people they wouldn’t want to play without. Just because you dislike someone doesn’t mean that everyone else has to at all. The ONE thing that truly hurts this community is the fact that EVERYTHING that is done is taken negatively by someone else, taken as a personal OOC jab. If something you dislike happens GIVE IT A CHANCE, if something you weren’t expecting happens GO WITH IT. Everyone has become so used to being bottled up in their own little roleplay shells as part of one community or another that they forget that the best roleplay that ever happens is something that you didn’t want or weren’t expecting to happen in the first place. Take a step back from the computer for a moment and think about what you’re really doing, what you’re really bickering about and brooding over. Whether you like it or not if you want to roleplay on ANY server in ANY game there are going to be people you don’t get along with and things you don’t like that happen. It is how you react to these issues that determines how other people look at you and how much respect they actually have for you.

It took me along time to learn this and I am sure I still have a ton of people who hear the name Beleth and do everything they can to avoid me because I was (and honestly still am) an butthole. All I am trying to say for those people who, like me, normally only read the last paragraph of these posts is that if we as a group of people, not as a community, want to be able to enjoy the time we spend in a game that we each pay monthly for, we need to learn to get along and enjoy the unexpected. Step back and take a look at what everyone is doing right now, the “LOL” posts in response to out right flames, the “It’s so true!” posts, all of it helps no one. Let’s just try and get along shall we?
