The time is drawing near...

Aras drifted slowly through the dark streets of Umbra. A lot was on his mind, and he paced constantly, passing the hours in deep introspect. His mission was almost complete. He had made a deal, one he could not break. He hadn't the will to turn back.

It's too late to turn back now. Finish what you've started. I promise you, you will be rewarded.

"Rewarded with what? There's nothing in this world, or any other, than I need," he returned softly. He approached the Well of Tears, where he could communicate with his fallen Mentor. A cold wind blew from the chasm as the voice continued.

You need not my forgiveness, child... atrocious as your sin was. I only hope to fill in the remaining pieces. You can finish this once and for all.

"Why? There is nothing to finish. You made the mistake of setting yourself up. All I did was remove your curse from this world, and shed my own burdens of watching over you"

Do not forget your place, wretch. I brought you into this world. I am the reason you are what you are, a status of which you are proud, correct? I do believe you introduce yourself as Wraith Lord these days. Do not force me to change that. Even in death, I can ruin your world.

"Sire, I mean no disrespect. But if I finish this... some things may be different, but some will not change. I made no mistake in taking your life, remember that." Aras was nearly yelling at this point. "Things are going exactly the way I planned. In return I'm offering you the thing you treasured most. Remember.... your death was the result of your fault, not mine."

The cold wind died down as the voice from the Well dropped to a whisper.

I hope you know what you're doing, Master.

Aras turned from the well and walked away. Time to check on their progress, he thought with a grin.
