The invitation nestled itself into Zephyrn Gryfith's hands like a slap to his face. Jonathan's gift an even greater insult. "I have decided to let you live."

His words dripped arrogance and his mind knew he was safe. Zephryn would not make the mistake of open, forceful opposition, but the words he spoke were the bite of a snake, and the venom coursed straight to Jonathan's battered heart.

Betrayal! Failure! You've destroyed them all! Each word fell as a blow to his soul, a blow he would not give Zephryn the pleasure of knowing he struck.

With a simple grin Jon turned his full attention once more to the scene opening before him.

"I am your mother Willow." Violetta spoke to Shade for the first time in years. For the first time... ever.

Her reaction of shock, aghast, and feared. Shade would not accept this premise so easily, even with evidence laid at her feet. Mirror the nightshade laid at her mother's grave. A grave hidden from all for so long.

Violetta stood with the invitation in hand, extended to her daughter, all grown. Shade, too shaken, too upset took it. Not ripping it as her mind told her, not casting it into the fire, but tucking it safely away, and fleeing swiftly from the tavern.

Ceinwyn ab'Arawn watched as the scene unfurled, her irritation, irate and anger rising for the Strathmore that so brutally harassed her family. His family. He smirked at her, keeping her at bay with biting words and stinging arrogance, as his exchange with Zephryn closed.

They all parted the tavern, the Gryfith man parting, Ceinwyn rallying her troops about.

Jon's lips curled in a smile as he viewed the hodgepodge of Umbran warriors.

"What are your orders?" One man begged.

What are your *orders* oh honorable ab'Arawn? His voice passing his lips, sharpened by his tongue.

"If you see him in Umbra, grant him death. Final death." Her words were filed with hate and frustration over the goading of Jonathan Strathmore.

"As if any of you could offer me final death... As if any of you lessers could hope to grant me this." Raising his head, pride overflowing, he turned on his feet and strode off, Vi at his arm.

---

She looked into his eyes, hers of violet welling up, tears streaming down her face.

"They hated me Jon... I have come back to my daughter and they hate me!" Her voice screamed with pain, though it spoke in barely a whisper.

"No, Violetta. They hated me... They hated me, but that will soon change."

A small smile crossed his cheeks as he soothed his wife in the making.

Nightshade Strathmore, will concede.

Things didn't go as she fantasized. She expected sorrow, but not hostility. Nothing could have warned her for this. Violetta hadn't thought there would be flat out denial.
"You brought this THING, you are not her mother, you are a machine!"
Those words cut as bad as Nightshade's refusal. Zephryn looked upon Violetta with disgust.

"Jon they hate me. I am causing her more pain. All I wanted was to see my daughters after all this time. But I cannot call myself a mother if I were to put my needs and wants ahead of theirs. I don't want to hurt them."

Jon wiped away the tears that welled up in her eyes and said, "Lets visit Wisteria, I believe our receiption would be greatly more appreciated"

Violetta shook her head, "No! I do not wish to hurt them anymore for my selfish wants! I think, maybe I should go with Jon II, to rest once and for all." She could swear that his face hardened at the mention of his son's name for the briefest of moments.
"It isn't you they hate, it's me. Come, let us visit Wisteria, she will be most happy to see you. Then you can make your decision"
With a reluctant heart she followed him to see her eldest child. She indeed longed to see Wisteria, but she dreaded seeing a look that would mirror her sister's moments ago.

She entered the house wordlessly, her hair dark black. Nyxys eyes widened as Shade headed straight for her. What does your grandfather mean saying you accept him! She grabbed the small white haired girl, her daughter shaking her madly, her eyes lit up with fear. Nyxanna you mean so much to so many dont trust him.

Her eyes widened Mairsil? She shook her head dropping Nyxy her whole body shuddering. No ,Jon Strathmore I saw your other grandfather tonight.

She heard a growl and then she knew as she saw Myrddin appear from the dining room that he had heard it all. His face was hard edged and he said calmly. Nyxanna, leave us.

Shade, what is going on. She explained briefly of how she met Zephryn her cousin, at the tavern and the surprise appearance and announcement of marriage between her Mother, and her grandfather. It sounded so wrong and as she spoke her green hair lightened to green once more. If she had had a heart to beat it would have been slamming against her ribcage. Myrddin stared hating to feel unable to do anything and he decided to increase the patrols around his home.

Will you go to the wedding? She remembered the letter in her pack and hastily grabbed it tearing it open her eyes blurring as she stared at it. She shook her head softly. How can I not? If this is my mother, then I must convince her of this treacherous mistake. He growled, dont go near Jon Shade this is yet another ploy.

All I can say is that I was thankful Ceinwyn was there I couldnt leave the room fast enough...

So it will be Myrddin said with a growl, not only the Gryfiths and Strathmores war, now the ab'Arawns shall wage theirs as well. I will not have this man take what is mine and do to ab'Arawns what he did to the Gryfiths so long ago. Now we play the waiting game..
