Oh, alright.....

Well, there I was...a brandy new residet of Sosaria.....

Actually this was my second character......my first one was lured into a red moongate with promises of making me all-powerful. I was then tricked into a cell where another character kept rez killing me. When I finally managed to get away they kept telling me to come back, but I fled and had absolutely no idea where I was.....I started over. In retrospect I believe this group of people might even have been RP'ing, but they really should've let me know what I was in for first. *grin*

So, there I was...an almost brandy new resident of Sosaria.......

I don't remember how I found my way from Haven to Britian, but I did. Once again, being the super pally perma-newb I am, a character named Banana Bob noticed this and told me to come along with him if I wanted to train in combat. I followed him to the graveyard outside Britian where he told me to kill the other character that was with us. Now, being new, had no idea of two things:

1. The other character was a hired NPC
2. I could not be killed because I was in Tram.

I told him I wouldn't do it and ran for my life with Banana Bob in pursuit (trying to kill me for all I knew).

Now I started playing UO after watching a friend play. His RL name is Richard, and his character's name is also Richard. All I really knew about Richard the character was that he spent his time escortng NPC's around for gold.

So, there I was running for my (second) life from Banana Bob when a gate opens up in front of me and out pops two characters. One of them says something along the lines of "Thank you Richard for seeing me safely to my destination. Here is some gold for your trouble." (Or something similar.) I stop on a dime and say "Richard it's Don!" "This guy is trying to kill me!" Now I had no idea how big the realm was, and didn't know at the time that the chance of my landing on the same 1280 x 1024 (or so) square in ALL of Sosaria as "Richard"was miniscule, but "Richard" opened up another gate and ushered me through it.

When all was said and done, "Richard" did indeed turn out to be the guy I sit next to at the day job.....what are the chances!? Banana Bob followed us through the gate, which then closed behind us. Richard explained to me that Bob couldn't kill me, and we walked away with Bob shouting insults, telling me he'd get me some other time and asking Richard to gate him back because he didn't know where he was. Heh

Richard then took me to Vesper and told me to spend some time fighting the mongbats in the woods to gain some combat skill and that we'd work up from there.

That, my friends, is the long boring story of how Max landed in Vesper.

Yeah! **claps hands**. Now see, that wasn't so bad. Brings back a lot of noobie memories for me. Brigands and spiders, I was scared to death of them. Polly would run back to the BTF castle from lumberjacking in the woods and hope someone was around to kill them for me. Dang I was pathetic. (Not to say I'm much better now, tee hee)

Don, given that you also happened to randomly meet the step-sister-in-law of your RL BFF while she was RPing her ranger in UO even though she lives 700 miles away, it does not surprise me at all that you have a history of uncanny luck. Very Happy

I started in Vesper and still live there. I was such a pathetic n00b... I was afraid to leave my house for fear of getting killed by mongbats, and in fact when I killed my first one I victoriously announced it like it was a great accomplishment.. yeah so even to this day there are those that poke fun of that lol, and rightfully so

My very first character was in Good Old Britian. RP wise though i would say Yew with BTF. As for X'eros Character, Probably Malas but not sure.
