After several months of being left on her own, Maia had survived. Survived the turning, survived what would have been her execution at the hands of the very one whom sired her. She was a free spirit and loved it. She fed from animals and on occasion, ranchers and passersby in the night. She cared not where or whom she fed. She knew she was a vampire, and knew she couldnt trust anyone as she had heard Marius shouting, the night she escaped, to others of the clan, to hunt her down.
She was on her own now, left to her own strengths to fend for herself.
The voices always told her not to trust the Cappadocians. So she avoided them when she could, and yet....She felt a drawn curiosity toward her fellow kindred.
Maia remembered her home in the tavern...she remembered those faces well. She then ran off into the shadows with a maniacal cackle and began to stalk a weary traveller in sanctan lands.
