Vian is the son of Crown Prince Zarlox and Princess Sadira Skyfire of Sanctus. Though a Prince by birth, he spent most of his childhood away from Sanctus, along with his mother and sister. His parents had told him it was for their safety.

Vian has a strong relationship with both his mother and sister, but is a bit more distant with his father. Rarely around until Vian was in his teens, his father always seemed to be off fighting the next war or political mess. Even when his father was around, he never directly took part in his studies or training. Instead Zarlox would observe and occasionally offer a suggestion or a tidbit of knowledge...

With Zarlox as his father, Eldred Jonas and Talon Skyfire his uncles, it is no surprise that Vian grew up enamored with the legends and stories of Stormhaven and Sanctus. His whole life he dreamt about being a Knight of Sanctus. Then one day, shortly after his 17th year, his chance came. His parents gave him permission to return to Sanctus and join the military.

After a tearful goodbye to his mother and sister, Vian set out to become a great hero of Sanctus.

"The greatest" Vian thought to himself as he rode towards Sanctus, all the arrogance and ignorance of youth with him.
