Bought Battle For Middle Earth 2: Rise of the Witch King through EA Digital Download about nine hours ago. Downloaded the game with an hour through EA's Download Manager. The code they emailed me to unlock the game is invalid, and the download manager crashes to desktop every time it attempts to unlock the content that I have already paid for. All customer service attempts have resulted in EA giving me the shaft and telling me to read the FAQs.

Anyone know how to manually unlock a game bought through EA's digital download service?

Nope. I deal in Steam for digital downloads only. You could always download a crack through a torrent site, though.

Sucks to download a crack for what's already been paid for. Anger+threats is usually how I get through to people.

I agree with Vaen though, Steam is the way to go for digital downloads.

I remember when I bought that game for my PC years ago. I installed it and it consequently destroyed my computer and I never got it working again, even after trying to format it several times. This game is cursed, I tell you.

I agree. Steam is superior. I've finally downloaded and unlocked the game, but now every time I attempt to install it, I'm met with an error message that tells me I need Windows XP to run the installer.

I have XP Pro.

Thank you, EA, for taking my money and denying me access to the product thanks to your broken software.
