The Chancellor looked at the check on his desk with the proper seals in place. A small smile crept across his face as he pulled a fresh piece of paper from his desk and he began penning a short and neatly written letter.

Lord Arahim
Forgive any rudeness in how I may address you, I assume Lord will do well enough unless there is some other title of office you deem more appropriate. It was regrettable that we were forced to imprison one of yours but I am glad that we could come to an agreement that was fairly beneficial to the both of us. Lord Gorhun is away on business, so I am tasked with keeping the Empire's affairs in order. Secondly, I would like to formally apologize for the harsh words that one of my subordinates directed at you. Zhaunil is a young on that can run his mouth without thinking. I assure you, he did this on his own without my consent or permission. We will make sure he is punished accordingly.
With that being said Lord Arahim, I would like to issue a formal invitation to you for us to speak of times to come and hopefully to smooth over any misunderstandings or confusion.
Our goal is simple. We wish to profit from dealings with our neighbors, not fight with them. Such activity does nothing to further our cause nor does it put gold in our coffers.
I look forward to your reply. As a matter of courtesy, I would like you to choose the time and place for us to speak in private.

Regards,
Drayden Calamyr
Chancellor

Drayden let the ink dry and affixed his seal to the outside of the envelope. He instructed a slave to have it delivered promptly to the Gypsy camp being clear to say it must only go to their leader Arahim.

Chancellor,

I believe I can recall my way to your office upon your isle, and tonight seems as good a time as any. Even tomorrow night, if it suits you better, will suffice. I will lend ear to all you may have to say, and endeavor to be a pleasant, if not interesting guest.
