Character Profile:

Lord Ikrua Shimakaze, Clan Shimakaze

Appearance:

A Tokuno male standing 5 foot 10 inches tall, weighing 150-160 pounds. Has black hair and green eyes.
Because of years outdoors and at sea, he is well tanned and has weathered skin.
Walks and rides with an air of confidence, soft spoken. When in command, he can project his voice like thunder, being able to be heard over the sounds of battle.

Work Description:

As a boy he took to the sea, learning currents and how tides affected the land. He conducted some fishing along the coast and at sea. As he got older, he learn the trade required of him as a Tokuno male from his father, such as Bushido, the art of the sword and bow, horsemanship. But what he enjoyed most was taking one of his small boats out and delivering and brings back goodies from other villages and towns.

His honesty in trade and work relations allowed better production due to his demeanor, shopkeepers, fishermen, and other tradesmen were able to approach him respectfully and conduct trade without the normal groveling and cowering.

Personality:

He is family orientated; his wife and daughter are the center of his life. He once stated that;

“Family is the key to honor, without a strong family, you cannot have honor without them. They are like your arms and legs, you are worthless without them. Homes can be rebuilt, new lands acquired, but family is irreplaceable!”

Enjoys the outdoors, going for horseback rides or sailing is a treat for him. Spending time with his daughter is another joy of his, whether it’s sipping tea or teaching her the bow, or simply sitting on the beach and watching the water.

When it comes to his daughter, he had hoped for a son, but ended up with a daughter. At first he was disappointed a bit, he wanted to teach his sons the art of combat and such, but thought his dreams were gone when he was presented with a daughter. Then his wife reminded him that a woman ruled the land. So he thought long and hard and figured he should ensure her safety and train her not only in the ways of the court and customs, but also in the combat arts in case she needed to take over the house if something ever happen to him. So he walks a fine line of treating her like a Noble Woman, but also giving her the power & skills of a man.

He was asked once by a fellow Lord if he regretted not having any sons. His response was to smile and say;

“I have a son, she is the best son a father could have, for she has all the grace and beauty of a cheery blossom and the skills of placing arrows into a target as if arranging a vase of flowers.”
