The only way this even arises debate is because people remember PEDMAS.
They don't remember, or may not have been taught, P-E-DM-AS.
The DM and AS have no priority above the either in their groups, you do the first(D or A) left to right.

You are however, as a human, and a unique yet considered part of the universe. allowed to make up your own rules to math. If you are to decide this equations = 1 2 or 3. Then it does, but every problem presented to you must conform to whatever rules in mathematics you created make this possible. 1+1 can = 3. but you have to conform every problem presented to your new thinking.

6/2 (3) which is basically 6/2*3

Left to right: 3*3=9

I don't know how much simpler it gets than that.
