Title: The Silver Mage

Last Seen: Generations ago, prior to the discovery of many of the continents now known and commonly explored.

Historical presence: During the era of his presence, Nai was a being of tumultuous influence, varying demeanor and hugely unpredictable loyalties as well as abilities. In one 'incarnation', he was a spellcaster of extreme potency; in another, a warrior of terrible prowess.

His influence in the affairs of the world, during the age of his inhabitation of Sosaria, was middling on outside appearances; well known, but highly untrusted by the recognized movers and shakers, whom he had almost invariably dealt with on various occasions.

As a being of seemingly transient loyalties, historical writings would give immensely scattered accountings of his actual doings; the perspectives themselves would range from the extremely benevolent to the unspeakably foul, and smatter throughout the in-between.

Which accountings are true? Which are not? Perhaps only the Silver Mage himself truly knows.

'Ere he departed as quietly as he came, with neither fanfare nor announcement, he left a promise written in the stone floor of the Citadel of Silence. Simply worded, he promised to wait, watch and return when an age or two had passed.

Perhaps this promise fell to ruin with the Citadel itself, and was never known for it to be forgotten. Perhaps it was known by some who have, themselves, passed from the world and are no more.

And then there is the possibility that some very small numbers of well-informed historians mark these things, or are ancient enough to remember, and would mark the signs of Nai's return if they were to know them...

...the truth, as always, remains to be seen.
