The meditation globe shimmered in a dark crimson color, bathing the interior of Valena's private chambers into a sea of blood. She enjoyed these weekly meditation sessions, it freed her from her surroundings and worries she had to suffer in the shadows.

It began as a normal session; she asked for guidance and was whispering praise to the Spider Queen when a disturbance occurred. Confused, she tried to focus when a strong vision appeared in front of her. A Yochlol, Handmaiden of Lolth, hovered in a mist in front of her.
As she struggled to regain her control, the Yochlol spoke: "Hark the news from the Underdark, Valena L'Aridn. Thy Mother hath found death by an assassin’s point. Thy younger sister Ma'yrea, is representing thee in the High Council, and heading the House L'Aridn in the Underdark, until thy return. You Valena, the eldest child of thy Mother are now the Matron of House L’Aridn. With Matronhood, thou hast begotten powers beyond a priestess grasp; use them wisely in thy current realm. Gather a host and unite the Ilythiiri. Long live House L'Aridn and do not fail"

The last words sounded loud and long in her head, the Yochlol vanished, and so did the vision, leaving her in the darkened room, dazzled and overwhelmed with the news.
"Matron L'Aridn" she whispered slowly with a smirk. "This has a good sound to it."
