After her sister left her she knew she needed to let Keldril know what has happened. She went to her desk and picked up her ibis feathered quill and in fluid delicate script began to write on jasmine scented papyrus...
My Beloved Kel,
I have spoken with my sister in regards to our relationship and she is requesting an audience with you to make sure of your intentions. I did not expect for her to be waiting form me when I returned, however it is a relief that I was able to tell you.
I understand if you would be apprehensive in regards to meeting with her. However, I know if she sees how wonderful you are she will give us her blessing. I am sorry to put you in this position, but I do feel it will be for the best. Please send your reponse with my falcon.
All of my love,
Ishtar
After she finished she gently rolled her note and securely tied it to he falcon. She reached in her pocked and fed him a bit of meat and told her loyal pet, "Seti, make sure you take this to Lord Keldril with haste." She picked up the bird and released him from her window... |

Kel sat quietly on the balcony of his keep surveying the farmland around him when a large falcon came to rest on the railing. It looked at him patiently and stuck out its leg to reveal an attached note. He eagerly unrolled the delivery and smiled in recognition of Ishtar's delicate script. His smile turned somewhat grim as the contents of her letter were revealed to him.
A nudge from the falcon showed Kel that the animal was obviously waiting for a response and he hastened inside to grab a quill. He scribbled a curt response:
Where and when?
Kel tied the response to the falcon's leg and and sat down at the table. He would need to prepare himself for this encounter. It would surely prove as difficult as any battle he had ever fought...maybe more. |

She heard the rustling of Seti at her window...she stood and removed the note from his leg. After reading it she went back to her desk and quickly wrote another response.
Kel,
My sister said anytime and wherever you would feel comfortable. The meeting will be just you and her. She suggested the Lyceum in Moonglow at 1:45 by the eastern sun. Just show up. She will be at the fountain. We resemble each other. You will not mistake her.
Yours,
Ishtar
She rose again and attached her response and bode Seti to make haste. |
