Autumn had extended it's chilling hand to the lands within the shard. Cherry blossoms gave way to the cold and let go the moorings of their trees. A crisp wind whipped about, blowing and scattering leaves in eddies and whorls. A leaf skidded along the Zento platform, dragging scratchily to unknown destinations, crossing Ceinwyn ab'Arawn's path as she strode across the wooden beams to the bank teller.

The familiar voice and smell of Tai Kwan Leap reached her at the same time. She hadn't heard him approach. She narrowed her eyes and kept her back to him for a moment as he addressed her, wanting nothing more than to grasp him by the throat and rip.

That would never do, not here, in this place. Bide time. Be friendly. Deceive.

She forced her facial features to relax into a warm, friendly smile, before turning to greet Tai Kwan Leap.

Gradually, a conversation dredged into existence. Ceinwyn found that she had time to consider a ploy, as they stood speaking of Halloween and autumn.

"You have always been an honored guest in Umbra, even now. You should stop in for a visit, sometime. Simply let me know if you ever decide to visit, and a room will be provided, free of charge, at the inn."

Tai seemed a bit surprised to hear of his good standing in Umbra. No doubt, due to the fact that he was no longer Emporer. Ceinwyn reassured him that his standing had never changed in the eyes of the Umbrans.

"Would you like to join us for a formal dinner? You would be our guest of -honor-..."

The man was very agreeable to the invitation. Ceinwyn told him he could arrive at any time of day for the dinner, and a room would be waiting and ready at the inn. She would send an escort to the dinner when the hour drew near. But, Tai did not so easily let down his defenses, mentioning that he would be accompanied by two of his bodyguards.

"Very well, I shall expect you, and your men, at 8 o'clock pm, by the eastern sun, this Saturday. Attire will be formal, so don't wear any of those bathrobes that your people seem to be so fond of."

As he left, her mind turned to Molly's state of health. That brought a cruel smile to her face.

Not too much longer, dearest Molly. Soon, you will dream of your true husband, Azreal.
