I have decided that Faith has become unplayable. I did too many things with her making her one of the most sought out criminals. Everyone, including the other dark aligned characters recognise her and point her out to the law now. I think it is time i stop player her, either rp kill her off, or just ooc remove her from the rp community. She also became unplayable as a female since most know i am a male IRL and cannot seem to distinguish between rl and incharacter. I have other characters to play, but just cannot seem to muster up the energy to plot as Faith anymore. Please answer the poll.

If answering the poll, please let me know the specifics behind your decision. I need some kind of feedback. Even if it is hostile feedback.

Ultimately it's up to you if you destroy her or not, but I say keep her. I get into character slumps all the time, sometimes my characters become unbelievably unplayable due to the circumstances they are in at the time. One thing I find works is just waiting it out. It might take months, but eventually you might want the character again. Although you could kill her off and bring her back somehow if that situation ever does arise.

It would be sad to lose the last drow :(

I voted that it is indeed your choice, but I'm going to give advice anyways.

On the grand scale of things, Atlantic RP right now seems to be 75% good 25% evil... But also seems to be 95% lawful 5% chaotic. So naturally, that means that roughly 70% of the guilds out there are lawful awful.... err, lawful good . So it really makes it hard for a chaotic character/guild to thrive, and it lessens conflict between good and evil. LG and LE would rather band up to smash CG and CE instead of goods fighting evils, regardless of lawVSchaos.

I suggested it a while ago; the evil guilds out there need to ally up and form the Scourge of Britannia alliance or something. That alliance chat will help and give the goodie goods proper conflict.

Remember the four corners of alignment kids; paladins are just as likely to hate the robin hood types as they are the fallen paladins, and the chaotic evil death-to-all types are just as likely to not get along with the fallen paladins and evil city-runner lawful types, as they are the C/G robinhood types... Let alone the paladins.

For a long time, it seemed atlantics alignments were 'Good/Lightbringer (L/G)', 'Evil(C/E)' and 'DoesNothing(TN)'. Now, lawful evil has taken over since admoreth's OES died off, and there is no conflict left.

Meh. It is difficult for me to suggest solutions, as I am on a drama-induced break from UO where I simply have no desire to login, even if logging in is required for the all important RP fix. The best I can say is, evil needs to get together. Were this dragonlance, Gilean (god of neutrality) would be crying nonstop. Also remember in dragonlance that when the scales tipped heavily in the favor of Good and good ruled over all, so powerfully that they were their own brand of evil, that the gods smote them with a gigantic mountain and brought about the cataclysm resulting in a 300 year dark age.

I see the RP community possibly heading down that road. RP can be good and activity can be great, but if there is zero conflict and its all good rping with good, or lawful with lawful, or absolutely nothing from CN NE CE, it'll be a cataclysm of boringness.

So, back to the point at hand, I think its awesome that you spite the current system and continue to be in the C/E corner somewhere. If people can't see past you roleplaying a female character, then that is the fault of their own insecurity. I think they are just worried that a dude that plays a chick might have a bigger peen than them, and that'd smash their ego. Sounds far fetched, but Atlantic has always been about penis envy and egomongering as a result of the former.

So, if you don't enjoy the character, don't play her. Don't force yourself to play a character you no longer enjoy. However, if you still do enjoy her, my suggestion to you is, try to get the evil/chaotic guilds working together, and perhaps a true alliance. Its time to pull the C/E corner together. As it stands, Lawful rules Atlantic RP. There are few chaotics to stand in its way, and, the goodVSevil fight has diminished for a long time. Its time to give that 70% a run for their money from both corners: Chaotic, and Evil.

I'd suggest take a break with her. The rl gender of the player shouldn't really be a factor, but yeah, it's sad that some people can't just igore that part.

And reallly.. No reason that Faith couldn't have say a student, apprentice or something along those lines. Or else start a new evil RP. I'd actually be tempted to play a bit here and there if there was a really good (by good, I mean well done, not light huggery ) evil guild. Evil is always more fun than good *winks*

I already told you this but my advice would to be just put her on a back burner for a while if you arent "feeling" the character right now. There may come a time later when Faith will return and torture once again.

For those that freak out about a guy playing a girl character, well thats an issue they need to work out not you. Being comfortable in your own sexuality enough to roleplay the opposite gender AND play it convincingly is big props for you hun!

Faith, as anyone that is involved in the criminal lifestyle knows, every once in awhile it pays to just lay low for awhile.. That is my suggestion to you. I also am involved in the criminal lifestyle of rp as the guildmaster of the Yakuza. I know how you are feeling about the situation, Ive felt it also. At one point it seemed as though the Yaks were being hunted by just about everyone. Lay low for awhile (take rp break with that character) then come back in 2-3 months or later and bring the mischief with you..

As far as your other issue you are having, well I also have had that issue. When most ppl have found out that Im not female IRL, thier rp has changed around me, they act diffrently.. But as time has gone by I have realized that it is infact thier issue not mine. If they cant deal then oh friggan well.. You can only control your own actions and only have to answer for your own actions. Don't kick yourself because they have the issues, you just get out there and show you are the better rp'er...



Take a couple month sabbatical with Faith then come back strong with her. To rid Faith from the rp world altogether would be the ultimate crime you commit, and more than likely you would regret doing it later...

Kill her off.

I had a character I deemed unplayable due to the roleplay and I killed her off.

Because I did not wish to rebuild that type of character from scratch, I purchased a name change. So, I have a character with her skills and possessions, but with a new name and slightly different moral compass.

I know of many characters who were killed off but they returned after a long absence. It's just a game so that's ok, but it seems strange from a roleplay view.

I guess I see things differently than most. I like my fantasy realistic. I like the perma killing of characters where they dont come back. Unfortunately it happens all too rarely. I liked Faith, had a blast with our RP, but if she is no longer enjoyable kill her off and come back with another character. If you want another evil female, Do It. I have perma killed a character in the past and am considering doing it again with another.

As we talked about in icq, I feel it is your decison but really I think she is one of my favorite evil characters and it would be a crime to loose her.

An option would be to take her into hiding and change her appearance roleplay wise or even change her name (to her drow name or something) and bring her back noone the wiser. Eventually she could be discovered to be Faith by certain people but noone would know ig unless it was rped that way.

Think about it. She is one of the best evil and sick twisted rp characters around. It would be really bad for the community with not enough evil-doers as it is.
