The sandy beaches of Nujel'm in her eyes sight, LaBelle sighed softly. It would not be long before the journeys end now. The Paladin woman moved from the starboard side, stepping lightly around a sleeping servant. It was night. The men aboard were to the other end of the ship. She heard them playing cards. Made their faces out by lantern lights.
"It's your turn Milord." the captains voice carried. LaBelle looked to see the Lord Majere smiling warmly to her, then he glanced his cards and made his move. With great care, LaBelle lowered her self next to the sleeping servant woman. Gently lifting the fur she settled beneath it, and into the warmth created by a sleeping body...
Many moons had passed since the Lord and Lady had left the lands they now destined to return unto. While the quiet life was peaceful, they each longed for friendships left behind, tasks they had once performed, and purpose. LaBelle wondered oft to the Regency, and it's new Lady Regent. How fared she, how fared the people beneath her...How fared her beloved Government Britannia.
LaBelle lay on her back, staring to the heavens. The breath of the sleeping servant woman steady and warm near her face. She heard the men's laughter, and merriment as the card game ended, each taking from it their prize...
Leaving the land had severely drained any riches the couple had. Arrangements were to be made for temporary stay in Vesper, until a new home for them could be afforded. LaBelle, unfamiliar with many of the Lord Majere's fellowmen was apprehensive. However she knew it would not be long that she would settle into comfort along his side at tables shared with his comrades. She greatly longed for the conversation of her Paladin sister, Mia. Fancying the idea of a brief stay on, at The Hall of Paladins. There would be much her sister would share with her. LaBelle hoped fervently the months had treated Mia well, that she was happy, and continually driven by the Virtues that kept her.
Hearing the adieus of the adjourning men, LaBelle closed her eyes. Footsteps across the creaking ships boards drew closer, until they stopped next to her head. Opening her eyes with a smile, she looked up to see the Lord Majere gazing down at her, a hand extended... |

With a laugh Leshok looked at the Captain of the ship "Sir, if you hadn't given us such a fair price for this voyage i'd think your cheating this card game!" he said laughing, losing the final hand of the card game. "Well gents, thats all for me tonight, time to get some rest." Leshok said standing up and bowing to the ships crew as he began walking about the ship to find LaBelle.
He smiled thinking of their little vacation together and now their return to the lands they once were so busy within. "I wonder how everyone is doing? Vaen? Max? Mia? and so many others.." Leshok thought to himself as he stopped a moment to gaze the stars. "Well, lessons learned, I hope I can take what i've learned from this time away to find another purpose." He said quietly to himself as he spotted his Lady laying beneath some furs. He smiled as he walked over to her and extended his hand to her when she noticed him.
"Lets retire for the night my dear" He said smiling an impish smile.
"Max should be getting our letter here soon." _________________ After all these years, I'm still putting up with Kuja and Vaen? whats wrong with me?
