Shade walked swiftly from umbra bank, her business for the day completed she stopped for a moment outside the bank. Goodness how I hate these mortal tasks. Gold is so useless to me, but I am a businesswoman, hence my business needs it. Looking about the peacefully empty town she surveyed the area, thinking what a lovely place this would be to put in a toyshop.

Good Evening Shade. Where once the ground had stood empty her teacher stood before her. Startled, she jumped a few feet off the ground. My goodness teacher you startled me. Her teacher surveyed her with cold eyes. Get used to it I shall be doing that to you a lot. She smiled and looked down rubbing the bracelet of binding as it had made a mark around her wrist. Yes, teacher I shall welcome your presence, whenever you choose to honor me with it.

Come Shade I need to begin preparing you, there is a rather difficult spell I will need you to perform, and I wished to give you a lesson.

You do not think I am up to the task already? He turned a cold eye on her, as I said it is a difficult spell and far outside the realm of basics. You will need preparation. Shade curbed her tongue for fear of incurring his wrath. Very well teacher. He nodded to her, Excellent, now gather your things and come with me. Hurriedly she grabbed the book that she had dropped in her shock, and scurried after him, his long strides out pacing her.

No one knew of her new apprenticeship, an uncommon one to be sure. Not even Xandria and Cissa her closest friends new of her new studies. Her carefree and reckless nature now a ruse to hide her secret, she wished no one to know the truth of her own complexity hidden in the shadows of her heart. Slowly she realized her time was no longer completely her own, but this was the road she had chosen. Nothing would stop her from treading it.
