To an old friend and a dearest brother,

Oh, my friend it has been much too long indeed! I know your probably asking yourself “What, Darrien alive!?!? How can this be?!?" Well, I’m disappointed in you, very disappointed in you that you would assume that I would simply go gently into the dark abyss that is death to face an eternity of torment and damnation so easily. The trick my dear brother is in the contingency plan! You would know all about that though wouldn’t you?
I’ll admit when I sensed that our cruel and less then fair taskmaster Oblivion departed from the realm I was not shocked. The Dark Throne more then anything else perceives I think the meaning of the term “lost cause”, which in effect most of our brethren were. I was to say the least delighted when I heard your name being thrown around in this new government you’ve formed around the ruins of all that we struggled so hard to build up, simply to have a few renegade Lich Lords tear down. Kudos…I imagine given the more public role and the fair and just rhetoric your forcing down everyone’s throat our usual black cloak, deathless visage and utterances in long dead tongues is no longer “all the rage” in Umbra. Good…nothing is more depressing then realizing you spent thousands on custom tailoring just to get about twelve of the exact same thing.
Now, I’m told my name is synonymous in Umbra with all that is treacherous, under-handed and otherwise vile. Hah! And they told me I’d never amount to anything!
In regards to that little coupe, that attempt to usurp which led to my expulsion and apparent death. We can all point fingers, but really what good is there in it? You know, in those strange times, we all did our fair share of usurping. And, I mean, I was really kidding, that entire speech about being the true Lich Lord and trying to kill you…all for laughs we needed it. It was a tough couple of months! So with that being said, you can pardon me, give me a nice slice of land and reinstate me as a Lord of Umbra.
