She had a night filled of dreams and images...awaking at sunrise she rubbed her eyes and she watched Kel still sleeping next to her. He had a slight smile on his face. Gently she got out of bed and put her robe on and tucke the sheets back around him. He always looked so peaceful sleeping and she smiled to herself. She walked to his side of the bed and kissed his cheek, his smile grew and he snuggled into the pillow more.

Quietly she made her way to the kitchen area where there were fresh fruits already in the the table for breakfast. She took a seat and watched the bustling in the Palace as she ate some fresh berries and a slice of sweet bread. Closing her eyes she sat a few moments in deep thought. She felt Jode's presence again. It was as if he awoke when she did now. With a "sigh" she stood back up and went to her room again and sat at her desk and stared at the black tome sitting there.

She knew she needed to find a way to help Jode communicate with her better and then purge his spirit. However doing so is not easy if not done carefully. They could be melded together permanently or she can destroy the life essence in his spirit if a mistake is made.

With all those those she rubbed her temples trying to get focused on the task ahead of her. She stopped rubbing her temples took a deep breath and opened the book. Carefully she leafed through the aged pages as she looked for the appropriate spell to give Jode a voice.

After a few hours of searching she found the appropriate spell and began to recite it:

I am Atum-Khepri, who was himself created on the leg of his mother,

Giving jackals to those who are in the Celestial Ocean, and hunting dogs to the members of the Council.

Behold, I have gathered words of power in every place where they are, from whomever they are with,

Fleeter than greyhounds, quicker than a shadow.

O bringer of the boat of Ra, your sail-ropes are taut in the north wind when you sail to the Lake of Fire in the underworld.

Behold, you have gathered words of power in every place where they are, from whomever they are with,

Fleeter than greyhounds, quicker than a shadow,

Which makes its transformations on the thigh of Mut, when the gods are created in silence, and Mut gives warmth to the gods.

Behold, to me belong these words of power, from whomever they are with,

Fleeter than greyhounds, quicker than a shadow; otherwise said, quicker than a shadow.

She could feel the energies flow through her. Hopefully now Jode can tell her what he wishes more completely. Thew few scattered sentences are not enough to make sense of.

She turned and saw Kel beginning to stir. She closed the tome and rose from her desk again. Making her way back to the kitchen she brought in a tray with the fruit and sweetbreads and sat back on the bed. He smiled up at her with his red eyes as he awoke. She gave him a soft kiss after he sat up in bed. "Morning my love." she said as she placed the tray in front of him. He smiled back at her and started to eat. They discussed what she had discovered in the tome and hoped it would change things for the better as they began their day...

Jode stood still within her mind as the final words to her spell were spoken. The magics which seemed to flow throughout her mental realm had slowly flowed to his neck, with a warm orange glow. Jode could speak now, yes he could speak, but what would he say? The plans developing within Jode's mind had not yet come to full development, but Jode knew now the impact that he could place within Ishtar's life through the mere whispers that he may place within her ear. Doubt, caution, and his own personal wisdom were his to give now, but the need for him to use them had yet to come to pass.

Watching out of the orb which showed her visions to him, he had frequently seen this "drow" within her eyes. The kisses, the hugs, and from that itself he could tell that this dark elf actually meant something to her. Interesting at it was, it was but another card placed upon his hand for use of a later date.

Jode would speak to Ishtar, when the time would come, but not now. His words were not needed now, but perhaps soon he might be able to take advantage of his situation and finally get revenge of the sole person whom had brought him to this pitiful state of possession from his death.

Dan.
