And the Blackrock moongate was like something out of The Guardian lore. I am both hoping it is linked to the Guardian, just because I am fascinated. In the fellowship of the Guardian, I was going to run a plot in which we searched for blackrock (making Zog a target) and built generators to form the black moongate. If this IS based on Guardian Lore, there should be 3 generators.. hopefully. In the Ultimas, there was one in hythloth. Anyone seen anything?

I missed an event I would have really loved. I wish we had heads-up sometimes, but then, there would be more people to compete with while fighting.

I hope they do more of these. It's starting to look like a major event boss every friday night. Steve, did you ask any of the devs if that is the case? We had yrigor last week, and now a "???".

Vaen, if it is true, that would sincerely make me happy. I just want to hit the thing and get screenshots of it, probably as I die. Laughing

I searched hythloth. my island holds some guardian past. i think uo is going in an overall good direction. i jsut with they would re-include roleplayers in it, as we get the best high off playing the game.

oh yeah diddnt find anything, goign back now

They wouldn't tell me if I asked... And the only one I have 'contact with' is Draconi, and that is just trying to make him drop hints on a public channel in IRC, which he does quite often.

I was able to get three screenshots from friday night when the blackrock fell. Unfortunately I did not obtain any and I was one of the first people to arrive and stay until the moongate shattered about 2am est. This ??? kept creating berserkers so it really wasn't a pretty fight at all.

The unknown

A few of the many Berserkers

The effects

All in all it was fun, so much death Very Happy

I'm not too sure that the current events are based upon Ultima 7. The three generators in Ultima 7 each performed a different function. So far, none of those functions are reflected on the NPC population of UO.
It'd be really cool if they just did something with the avatar and the guardian though. Very Happy
Crepes own pancakes btw. Cool

Someone needs to convince EA to throw in a giant ten-level door dungeon megabattle that has at least 1000 doors per level one must open to reach the final confrontation.

Only then will this plot be complete.

You guys gotta remember that they aren't going to follow storylines. So they will alter it a little, but at the same time try to keep things in a general, logical sense.

For one, there's no more king. :-/
Second, all these new lands and expansions were vaguely mentioned.
And third, many of the races we have today are altered (if I remember correctly, the Ophidians were never snaked, but rather humans)

Ultima Online is on a tangent. It will not follow Ultima storylines. It might have hints of them, but it will be altered in many ways to fit the MMORPG community. Because let's face it... single-player quests in MMORPG just don't cut it. Hence... D&D Online will fail.

You speak nothing but truth there, and it has served to reason over almost every MMO I have expeirenced or seen. It just doesn't serve to keep attention and it defys the true objective of MMO's... bring people TOGETHER for massive multiplaying in an online role playing game environment. Single-player quests in MMO's are just an extension of single-player games that you need to pay a helluva lot more to play.

Would UO even be able to bring Lord British back without Garriot(spelling?)?

No. Lord British was copyright-protected by Garriot himself. In his contract for leaving Origin, it was written in that Lord British needed a heroic ending or something to the effect.
