“How dare he say such a thing?!” Alessandra made her way into her house and up to her room and finally let go of the anger that had built up within her. She kicked her sandals off, barely missing the candle on her dresser. She undressed and pulled a robe from where it was hanging on the chair. She made her way to her bath and gently lowered her aching and bruised body into a hot bath smelling of lavender.

Alessandra had gone with Vaen, Arabella and another Legion member she did not know to Poet’s to enjoy the evening with friends. It wasn’t long when Mave arrived and made his way to sit beside her in the back row. Alessandra looked up from a book of new spells she was eager to learn and smiled softly as he took his seat. He looked at the book and stated with a slight grin, “More magery?” He chuckled softly and shook his head. Alessandra leaned over and gently kissed his cheek with a slight grin and whispered “I have to keep up with you somehow, right?” The game was about to begin and she placed her book in her satchel, unaware that she was about to become a player of the game. Poet called her and Mave up to participate and Alessandra pointed out that they were not married, trying to get them excused from the game. Vaen didn’t help matters by encouraging them to make a good showing for the Legion. Finally, Alessandra gave in (if only to not have Poet lift his kilt) and made her way towards the stage, giving Mave a soft smile and whispering to him that she was sorry. He smiled down at her and shook his head slightly. The game was actually a lot of fun, and she had a good time. Afterwards, it was getting late and they decided to go to Sanctus for a quick drink with friends before each retiring to their homes. She opened a portal and they each stepped through, Aless bumping into Mave as he came to a sudden stop. She looked around and noticed that there were a lot of Sanctus grouped around Vaen and Beo.

Vaen looked towards the gate and smirked and made a comment about the newlyweds arriving, which in turn prompted many questions that Alessandra quickly laid to rest. Then she heard Talon say “I wonder if this is an oath you can finally keep?” Thinking he had said that to Mave, and seeing his hand begin to move towards his sword, Alessandra put her hand gently in Mave’s and squeezed gently. Mave asked Talon if he had directed that towards him, to which Talon replied “No. It was directed to her.” and looked directly at Alessandra with cold eyes. Alessandra was shocked and took a quick breath, and feeling Mave tense under her hand she looked up at him and shook her head slightly. The conversation continued and Talon again aimed a verbal attack and an insult towards Alessandra, and although she knew that it was his way of trying to create trouble, this time she was unable to hold back the tears. She looked down to the ground and angrily wiped the tear from her cheek. She took a deep breath to compose herself and looked back up at Mave and met his eyes, and again shook her head slightly. She knew that Talon was no match for Mave, but she glanced around and saw other members of Sanctus arriving on mounts and knew that it would not be an honorable fight between only the two of them.

Mave leaned over and whispered for her to call her mount, that he was taking her home, and she shook her head slightly. She knew that if she left that there was nothing that would restrain him, and she would not leave his side when she was needed. He sighed softly and shook his head at her stubbornness and returned his attention to Beowulf and Talon, who were engaged in a heated verbal attack of one another. Alessandra knew that with Beowulf’s temper and Mave’s honor this would not end with only words, so she called her mount and sat, her stomach tied in knots. It was unknown who struck first, whether it was Beowulf or Talon, it mattered little. The fuse had been lit, and Alessandra did all that she knew to do and that was heal. She charged after those fighting and a few times she felt a blow to herself, once turning to see the king himself attacking her. She called out to Mave, and he quickly charged after the king, and Talon retreated for his own safety. Alessandra returned to the battle in front of the Hostel, where she was met by Toni and Morus. Those two were a difficult team, her being a mage and him as talented in his weapon skill. She flipped through her book to find a spell, and suddenly everything went black as she felt something solid hit the back of her head. She laid there a moment in the street and heard her name being called far away. She slowly opened her eyes and through the excruciating pain she could still see the battle being fought.

She saw Vaen and Beowulf and Mave, working as they had before, each of them calling to the other instructions. Alessandra was assisted to the side of the hostel and she watched at the Legion came to a halt in front of the hostel, and watched as Talon had the nerve to return and demand that they leave. Alessandra shook her head slightly, and she realized that this was a man she had been so sure of that she had given her oath to Sanctus, and yet after tonight she had no respect at all for. Mave dismounted and came over and helped her up and kept his arm protectively around her, shaking his head at Talon. Alessandra looked up at Mave and then to Talon and knew that this battle was not over.

Mave saw her home where he bid her goodnight and watched as she made carefully made her way inside. She watched from a window as he made his way home and she herself made her way to her bedroom, fuming and hoping that her temper, as well the tempers of others, could be calmed by a hot bath and a long night’s rest. Now as she relaxed in the tub, she wondered where this chapter would take them all.

The water slammed angerly against the shore of Nujelm. Beowulf stomped across the grass just near the water, continuously rubbing his left arm. His breathing was heavy, he wasn't sure if he was because of anger or exhaustion.

"Talon asked for it. However, I was just as rude as he was. Our debate seemed to have been dancing in a circle while his members stood by his word, and Vaen with mine. Vaen came up with the damn idea that death to necromancers wasn't fair, I just agreed!"

Beowulf slowed down his pace, and began to walk slowly across the shoreline.

"I stood toe to toe with the ruler of the kingdom Sanctus. Our eyes met eachothers, and our words clashed together. I have no problem being insulted by him, but Aless." He shook his head a bit. "She's been like a sister to me since the Dark Order. She wasn't even like the other members, her and Mave were only there for...well I guess moral support.

I asked Talon to apologize, and I demanded him to as well. How dare he make her swell up in tears. I was so angry I clearly didn't look over the situation at hand. Twelve Sanctus soldiers, against the five of us. I didn't even know Shalish could fight." Beowulf throw his hands in the air at this remark, he was beginning to speak quite loudly. "I'll admit I struck first! I'll admit that I was trying to get on his nerves. But he won't admit that he was jus' as much as a jackass as myself!"

Beowulf walked away from the shoreline and sat on the benchs by the bank. He was calmer now, his venting was down.

"I attacked because Aless wouldn't let Mave. He has a cooler head on his shoulders I guess. Although it didn't seem too inviting at the number of soldiers arriving already armed. I attacked to defend Aless, and in return she was struck down. I blame myself for her pain. But never again will that happen.

War has struck out against Legion and Sanctus. A war that the King should not have brought upon his soldiers. I even told Vaen I'd avoid the town for a bit, but they couldn't stop me from seeing Tati. Well...they could try. I can only imagine what will happen next."
