Annawen sat on the front porch and sipped her tea,watching as her oldest son played with his twin sisters.

"Sashi give that back...before I tell momma..,"Kohana said as she chased her older brother around trying to get her own wooden sword from his hand,"no Kohana your too little..,"he said then stopped and looked to Keiko as she stood up.

"Momma Keiko has something on her back..,"he said causing Keiko to scream and run to her mother,"heavens Keiko stop squirming...,"she said as she turned the little girl around and lifted her shirt.

"The mark of the Dragon...,"she said as she straightened up and lifted Keiko onto her hip,"Sashi go take your little brother inside..Kohana come with me..,"she said as she held out her hand smiling as her daughter took it and moved inside.

"Momma did I do something wrong?,"Keiko asked as their mother took them into the bathroom,"no angel...wait here ok..,"she said then hurried out of the room and up into her and Ashi's bedroom.

"Now where did I put that book..,"Annawen said the pulled out her grandmother's diary and smiled,"ahh yes..,"she said then quickly moved back down to her daughters,"ok girls...come here...Keiko show me your back again..,"she said as Keiko turned around and lifted up her shirt,"thank you princess..,"she said then flipped through the book slowly.

"Ahh yes...here it is...Keiko would you like to see what you have on your back?,"Annawen asked as her daughter nodded her head and moved over to stand with her.

"This is your dragon....what that means is that you are its protector...he is called Sea Singer and he is the Source of Renewal..,"she said as Keiko's eyes widened,"does Kohana have one too?,"she asked as Annawen looked to her other daughter.

"Kohana lets see..,"she said as Kohana did the same thing her sister had done,causing Annawen to gasp softly,"oh my...Kohana...I see why your dragon chose you...her name is Quicksilver..and she is the Keeper of Secrets...and like your sister is with Sea Singer you are her guardian...,"she said as Kohana sat down and tried to see the dragon tattoo on her back.

"Do you have one too momma..?,"Keiko asked as she tried to look at her mother's back,"yes Keiko I do...mine is called Star Chaser..and she is the Pursuer of Dreams..,"she said Keiko sat down and watched her sister a moment then looked to her mother again.

"Momma...does anyone else have this mark...,"she said as Annawen shook her head,"I am not sure princess..but your poppa and brothers will not..it is only passed to the females within my bloodline..,"she said then looked to the door as the nanny popped her head in.

"Ok you two...off to your studies then its time for your baths..,"she said as they both nodded and stood up,moving towards the nanny at a snail's pace,"perhaps I will tell you a story of our dragons before bed....if we have time..,"she said as both girls nodded and giggled then literally ran past the nanny to begin their work.

Sighing softly Annawen stepped out of the room and moved up onto the roof,letting the ocean breeze blow her hair,"Ashi we need home..,"she said softly unsure if he would hear her or not.
