This is a poll to see where everyone's trust issues lie with the Realm of Umbra, :U:.
I know it is an evil guild, but behind the scenes, the characters are played by players just like every one of the good guys. We uphold the fact that RP is just a stage, and the people behind it actors, and that just because a person might be aggressive toward us ingame RPly, doesn't mean they feel like that behind the scenes.
To quote our own rules:
Quote: | The most important thing about RPing is to remember that everyone involved is in it for fun. Be polite, be considerate of the players behind the characters you interact with, and enjoy yourself. If you aren’t having fun, then you need to change something, either your character or the group of people you interact with. |
That said, let me get to the point of this poll.
Do you trust Umbra to follow the basics:
No KOS
NO Drobe
NO Looting
and the one that I created that was unceremoniously dumped from this forum
NO Griefing (it shouldn't even be necessary but during the course of this last year, sadly, it seems to be)
Honestly now, if you feel that you cannot trust us to be capable of following these simple rules, please vote, and be sure to include why. We are all about improvement, and will consider all the feedback given.
I operate under the assumption that it is a given that I will enforce all the RP rules listed above(and many extras that are unique to :U , and I take for granted that I am trusted by all to perform the duties of a GM. |

I have been in one guild or another with the person behind Cein since I began, I just wanted to say that she has always been an excellent gm especially when it comes to letting us know the rules and making sure we follow them.
Realm of Umbra is full of some experienced and alot of new Rpers but it has an excellent infrastructure set up to train the new and keep the experienced Rpers in check.
I am not trying to plug Umbra just wanted to say Kudos to you Cein you always have been very good at making sure we all know the rules.
P.S. I didnt join in the poll it goes without saying that I trust them as I have a character in it! heheheheh _________________ May destiny guide you... |

I will admit to having been skeptical to begin with based on past issues with certain members. I am all for a second chances though and rarely hold a grudge for very long unless after multiple chances I finally give up.
I have had some interaction with Umbra and I have to say I have had alot of fun and found even their newer members have caught on to the rp ways very well. As for the older ones asnd the ones I may have had past issue with, after speaking with them or interacting with them and getting to know more of them... I have found them to be pretty decent people. As for you Ceinwyn, I have found that you have been very approachable in talking GM to GM about any issues or concerns that may have popped up which says alot for your guild as well.
Anyway , my vote was Yes I trust them... as I trust most until they prove otherwise. |

There have been a few altercations between a few members, but I have to say the RP that you guys have brought has been very interesting and spontaneous.
Be careful though, there are those that say "yay unscripted RP" on the boards and decide to pout when that RP doesn't go the way they want it to... not naming names....
I have to say Cein, we may have had our issues in the past, but I appreciate that you come to people and say it like it is, rather then blow smoke up their asses and then turn around and spout other stuff to little birds that may just come back and repeat what is really being said.... _________________ Good friends are like stars. Was skeptical at first but you've proven that you run it well. Some little problems are unavoidable and its no reason to not war someone over, because you'll never war anyone if you are worried that they MIGHT have a griefer or whatever.
If I had a guild or was asked for advice in a guild I was in, I would not have a problem warring or suggesting we war you... Barrak or no Barrak |

I tend to agree with Rryn. In the past there have been issues, but believe the persons involved have proved their worth (through being able to talk/interact with them).
As long as people can follow the rules of war that are laid out (which I saw yours Ceinwyn and love that you put it right out there). I think you are doing a great job with :U: .
As for the one person I do not trust to follow the rules (not gonna pretend I don't have an issue) I hope you will be able to help him learn how not to be an instigator. He does have good rp skills, however he needs to not put himself above the rules set out.
Other than that everyone else in Umbra has been great.
Keep up the good work. _________________ Lady Toni McStravick-Skyfire

I answered the 3rd one.
unfortunetly i havent had the chance to get to know the members of this guild except threw what little rping i've done with them and ceinwyn and the alts she has that i do know of. i have talked too her ooc'ly a few times threw icq and found her to be someone worthy of respect and i do.
As far as the drama goes i try to ignore it and get to know the person before i believe what people tell me or what i read about someone. _________________ Hate binds a warrior,

It is a conspiracy Vaen.. don't ya know? Ceinwyn just hired all her friends to log in here and vote yes... the no votes are the "real" votes _________________ Good friends are like stars. You don't always see them but you always know they are there...

maybe stow the sarchasm. seems we could all take a break from it. I don't mean only yours but everyones in general, half the prob around here is people flyin off over smart alec responces that aren't needed and just add to the drama. I went with the third one myself. same as reasons above, but i said that last week, I trust Cein totally, just really don't know any of her crew. I will glady war [:U:] for the sake of rp or a plot line but at this time can't see leaving it open ended. As far as the Nay sayers, thats thier buisness and not every responce needs commentary. There are some that won't, ok, leave it at that. no biggie. No need to make an issue just because not everyone sees your perspective. As we can see there are more than enough that have no problem or just need time to know more. Work from the positive. Personally, I don't blame the ones who aren't flowing with the current. Anytime someone does disagree it has to be jumped all over, justified and flamed to a golden brown. No one can ever please everyone. I think your poll turned out rather positive all told. |
