Merci strode into the Bloodletters domain. A hush fell over the people standing about in the pillared temple. Matriarch, we had not expected such a visit…the pale necromancer said as he rushed to her quickly. Come back here, into a private room. She smiled and nodded, excitement welling up in her. It surely was time for a definite determination. She was positive that she was with child. She smiled softly to herself, a mother knows…
Laying on the stone table was rather reminiscent as he lowered his stethescope. Probing about her stomach. He shook his head, and looked at her with a mixture of fear and confusion. Milady I loath to tell you this but you are not at this time with child I can find no heartbeat. Her eyes widened, that is not possible, I mean I have felt and seen signs…
He shook his head, perhaps Milady you are just to early along to tell? She looked very upset, then explain why my armour is so tight around my middle? He looked at her and said cautiously, if I may be so bold, Matriarch, perhaps you need just a bit more exercise…
Merci’s jaw dropped, are you saying I am fat! I train long hard hours, every day, I am up most of the night! I am not slovenly, there is no other explanation. The bloodletter recanted quickly, like I said it is to soon to tell. I will take some of your blood and send it off to an alchemist, they can confirm or deny for sure Milady.
What is it with bloodletters always wanting to take blood!!! She yelled at the top of her lungs but produced a vein for him anyhow. His hands shaking as he heard a sharp growl when he drained away a bit of her blood into a vial.
She rose angrily, how long before I know for sure. He smiled at her, no more than a week milady. She looked at him, You have three days…her tone was deadly and he nodded emphatically. Three days it is!

The room was in shambles, a chair came flying against the wall. Is it so much to ask for a child! Keldril stood watching Merci disassemble her bedroom one furniture piece at a time, claw marks scraped across her sheets. She had developed a bit of a temper…
He smiled at her and her anger lessend quickly. Like a potent spell Kel's relaxed, laid back attitude and charm seemed to calm her. Come now Merci, let nature take its course. He smirked and added, I certainly wouldn't mind a bit more trying. _________________ May destiny guide you... |
