With a quick flick of her wrist, Doireann watched her sword slice through the trogladyte, who fell to its death. She brought her shield arm up, trying to cover a yawn. She could not think of anything more dull than this easy kill. A group of adventurers were handling Lurg and Grobu, which eliminated any actual thrill out of culling the trog population. She let her mind wander, contemplating what she’d learned from X’eros the other day. Such information could prove useful in her efforts. A marriage, though she hadn’t seen the groom in quite some time to be able to harass him about it.
A sudden roar pierced through her thoughts. She looked around and could see the bodies piled around her and grinned. She turned to leave, her duty done when she saw Lurg heading for her, kicking his way past each corpse. Finally, Doireann thought with a smirk, a challenge. She ran to him, her sword ready, and began to battle. With each attack and parry, she could feel her muscles tense and blood oozing from various scratches the beast landed. Finally she found her chance. She stepped forward, swinging the sword , then watched as his head left his body. Doireann smiled, heading towards the cave, when she felt an excruciating pain across her back. She turned and saw Grobu attacking her.
“Stupid, demented bear,” she muttered, as she took the extra time she needed to get rid of the bear. She kept muttering as she exited the cave, then began to place bandages on her wounds. She reached behind her, trying to get the first swipe the bear had made, and failed.
“Dumb bear,” she said again. With a quick sigh and a few words, she made her ways to the Moonglow healers.

Doireann was laid out on her stomach with no shirt or armor on, just a blanket to cover her modesty. The healer had his hand on the wound, and was chanting many words that made absolutely no sense to her. Apparently her muscles had been ripped and the healer said he needed to “make sure all were healthy.” Odd male, she thought.
“There, all done. Everyone is safe. Your babies weren’t even harmed,” he said as he moved his hands from her wounds.
Doireann looked at him in confusion. “Huh?”
The healer stared at her as if she was stupid. You are all healed, and the children weren’t harmed,” he said slowly.
“Huh?”
“The babies, the twins, they are fine. You know, in your stomach.”
Doireann stared at him in silence as she stood up. “I’m pregnant?” she said, staring at him in shock. Then she did the only thing that felt natural to do; she fainted. |

It has been days since he last seen her. X'eros recalled the evening they spent together. Standing on the bridge leading into Umbra, he noticed all was too quiet. It had been a while since he had an intense battle involving those of the light. His ears flickered slightly in annoyance as he could not tolarate the quiet.
Knowing the orders of both his mactriachs, X'eros resisted the urge to enter Sanctus, unless specifically ordered to.
However, there was no reason he could not edge up the road to terrorize the local brigands. His blood boiled just thinking of a good slaughter. He strode up the road. It did not take long for him to reach the brigdand camp.
Upon seeing a lone travelor, the bringands made their move. Underestimating their foe, they sprang out from their hiding places and surrounding them. "Give us yer gol' or yer be in alot o' pain!" One of them said.
X'eros stood calmly, chuckling slightly but not saying a word.
The bringand who spoke repeated again, "er.. uh... give us yer gol' now! .."
At this, X'eros chuckled loudly.. "Pathetic" he thought.
At this, the lead brigand gave the order to attack. "Take tha' pesent down.. we be takin all 'is valuables!!" At this all the brigands armed and attacked.
X'eros armed his war axe and shield quickly as he fended off the first few brigands. He smiled, his eyes glowing a blazing red as he temptations to slaughter intensified. He impaled his axe into the skull of one brigand and kicked another in the groin. The bringand who was kicked fell down, only to have his throat stepped on and crushed by the rampaging drow.
As he continued to kill, his swings became more intense, summoning more pecision to his kills, but letting them die slowly.
The brigands realized they were outmatched. Several of them fled. The one who led the attack begged for mercy. X'eros sheathed his axe and shield. He then removed his arm and glove pieces as he relaxed his stance.
The brigand, fooled by this behavior, moved in with a concield dagger.
X'eros grinned slowly as he realized what was to happen. He quickly dodged the brigand's usless attack. He then gripped the brigand by the head and put him into a headlock, flexing his bicep under the brigand's jaw.
In a constricted voice, the brigand pleaded again, sounding even more pathetic. X'eros intensivied the headlock, flexing even more, preventing the brigand from breathing. Then began to twist his head. The sounds of tendons started to snap as the brigand bleated like a fightened goat. With one more loud snap, the bones in the brigand's neck broke.
X'eros dropped the brigand. "This was barely enough to appease me.." He snarled to himself. Little did he realize, something else was happening. Something that would alter his life forever.
His thoughts returned to Doireann again. "She would have loved to see what just happend here." He thought to himself. He then journeyed back to umbra, leaving the dead brigands.
He then entered the town portal on his way to moonglow, there he would find Doireann. |
