Things haven't changed, my son...
Aras, mortalized in material form, sat in deep thought beside the Well of Tears. Only a few days ago he stood in that very same spot, talking to the very same Soul. It was late, and nobody was in sight. Privacy... all he needed.
Nothing has changed. Nor will it, for that matter. Once this move is complete, things will go back the way they were. Everything will be as it should.
"You're wrong. Things are changing. Look at this place... look at what has happened to it. Have I fallen? Have I done something to deserve this? I had a plan, my lord, a plan, and now it has gone to rubbish. Was my faith blind? Or was it simply too weak? I don't know what to do."
Yes you do, Aras... you've already made your decision. You have set things in motion. If what you have told me tonight is true, only then will things be as chaotic as they once were. If you go through with this you're going to have to accept the consequences. I strongly urge you to think about your decision, and I implore you reconsider your loyalties.
Aras stood up and glared into the well. "I know where my loyalties lie... you have no right to tell me otherwise." Angrily he walked away. More and more his thoughts strayed to "the forgotten."
I know what I believe... _________________ |
