The zookeeper sat transfixed upon the object on the table before him. It was wonderfully crafted in the shape of a scorpion. Truly a magically tinkered item it was.

ZOOKEEPER, GET YOUR LAZY ASS UP HERE, NOW! came the shrill venomous voice of management from upstairs.

Daz, sighed while looking down. Yes Sir, right away sir.

The elf tucked the object before him in his back pocket and ascended to the second floor. He opened the door and walked in. He was peering at the floor with the look of a man completely subjugated as he walked into the room. The zookeeper could hear the incessant taping of fingers on the desk. It sounded like nails on a chalk board in hell. He shuddered at the sound.

You lazy no good zookeeper, I have something to tell you. You are going to cancel that festival crap and thats it. Understood? Now begone from my sight.

Yes sir, i understand. Daz stated in a disappointed tone. The zookeeper turned and started out the door. The eyes of the elf flashed white hot with anger.

The zookeeper did not turn back but spoke over his shoulder. I'm sorry to hear that, sir. Considering the gift that the children have sent you.

Gift? What gift? The taping of fingers ceased. A grin began to spread across the lips of the zookeeper.

I put it in that armoir next to the cot. I think its really valuable. It's probably something made of gold and gems. Its very heavy.

Daz heard the doors to the armoir open. Greedy bstard, thought the zookeeper.

I don't see anything. spat management.

It is way in the back, sir. You know how I like to keep things orderly and out of the way.

Bah, stupid elf. The voice grew diminished as it searched the container for the gift from the children.

Daz uttered the words, Ort Por Ylem. The doors to the magically glyphed armoir slammed shut. He quickly reached into his back pocket and affixed the golden scorpion lock to the inscribed Frostwood armoir that now contained management.

A spout of profane words directed at the zookeeper erupted from the armoir as smoke of acrid sulfur began to billow form its joints.

I'm sorry sir, but we will be having the festival with or without your approval i should think. The children want this. The children deserve this. The children will have this. After all, it is a zoo. What good is it if no one is aloud to visit.

Daz whistled a short tune and Russel, the giant beetle entered the room. The smoking armoir disappeared into the beetles pack. Take it somewhere very cold, bury it deep and then return. Hurry you have not much time. The zookeeper spoke softly to the beetle.

Hhheshtheechaaasssseth. The beetle understood.

Thank you my friend

Chaakeessseeth keessethcha.

The zookeeper followed Russel and watched as he disappeared through the moongate with its load of armoir and management. I hope that holds him for a couple days. Long enough to hold the festival at least.

Daz, dusted off his hands and returned to the desk in his office smiling but well aware of possible consequences that his actions might bring about.
