Two weeks prior

The idea was in her head. A magic mirror to see into the homes of enemies and see what plots they intended. She knew she could do it. The exact ingredients she was unsure of, but she knew she had to try. She set off for Umbra, with a specific goal in mind. She went to the provisioner, and got what she needed, and went home, her possessions close at hand.

Ciara ran up the stairs with her possessions, and laid them on the table in front of her. She had four mirrors to work with this time, so one had to work correctly. She placed each mirror down, and placed a scroll in front of them. She then took out her assorted reagents, and began working.

First, she pulled out a bowl full of dirt from outside. She then took four small, empty bowls and laid them next to each mirror. Nodding to herself, she measured out a spoon full of dirt, and placed it in each bowl. Next, she pulled out some crushed mandrake root, and sprinkled it in each bowl. Then came the variety.

The first two mirrors, she poured a little bit of deamon's blood in the bowl next to them. Next, she took out some Liquid nightshade, and poured it in with the deamon's blood in the first bowl and also poured it in the second bowl. She then took four shafts of pig iron. She stirred each one clockwise with the staff, carefully counting the stirs until she reached eleven, and then stirred it four times counter-clockwise. After the last stir was done for the last bowl, she set the staff down. She poured the mixes onto the mirrors, and spread it with her hands to completely cover the mirror itself.

Quietly, she spoke, "Aglo Ymen Nam!"

Suddenly, the pull came from within her, and she felt the beginnings of the magic working. Her eyes begin to glow a deep red as her hair whipped about furiously in the room. Then abruptly, it stopped.

Uh, Oh! Ciara thought, then openned one eye to look at the mirrors. The first was shattered as if someone had hit it straight with their hand. The second was still globby, but starting to smell like rotten eggs. The third... well, who knew? It wasn't anywhere to be seen. The fourth ... it was her face, but with a tongue sticking out at her! She blinked, then gasped, as the mirror had decided to cross its eyes. Ciara stared intently at it, until her eyes began to water. Finally she could take no more, and blinked again. This time, the mirror thumbing its nose at her. With a sigh, Ciara put down the mirror, and went to her journal to detail her progress.
