Ditto awoke on the ground and in tremendous pain. Her arms, above her head, she was being dragged away from the Iron Maiden by the housekeeper, Jujual. Getting Ditto in a clear path, the the old witch set to work quickly on her young Lady's deep puncture wounds, while Ditto drifted in and out of consciousness.

Daerauko stood over her, smiling that charming & carefree smile of his. And then, all too quickly, darkness of the night fell and he was gone.
Shaking her head to clear the dream, then groaning from the migrane the action caused, Ditto sat herself up and looked around. Jujual's toothless face grinned at her. "Short missus, ju done scare Jujual to no end all da time."

Ditto waved the witches concern away and, using the nearby loveseat, she stood up, unsteadily on her feet. Jujual knew to try to stop her was pointless, and she only offered her arm to help steady her.
"Has Taro come out of his study yet?"
Jujual nodded, and obeyed Ditto's slight nudge to step away. "He done come out a little while ago, when ju was still in dat dere Iron box. He roamin inside and out da keep." Jujual shrugged, Don't know what for though. No one ever do. 'Cept him. "
Ditto nodded and grabbed bandages from off the loveseat. "Thank ya, Jujual. I finish tendin to myself. You see to dinner....and make it a hearty one. Tarothin is gonna need a full belly before he goes off to find Daerauko."

An hour later, Private Ishia and Ditto sat together on the bedbench tidying up Ditto's wounds and chatting. Ditto kept her eye on the door, for her husband's entrance.
Tarothin entered the bedchamber from the hallway, noticing the two ladies sitting inside, he gave them a look of suspicion, before entering the study and closing the door.
Ditto could barely hear Ishia's words, as she worried over that small slight detail that had crossed his eyes. Were they in trouble? Had she done something wrong lately? Ditto pondered for a moment what could make Tarothin suspicious of her, but came up with no answers. Apologizing for her rudeness, and wanting very much to speak with Tarothin of their son, Ditto left the bed-bench to enter his study.

A short while later, after her plea to Tarothin to help find their son, Ditto stood in absolute shock at his words after his refusal to help.

"If he dies, he dies."

His refusing to help was shock in and of itself. But the coldness of his words, pierced her, and for a moment she wondered if she were having a bad dream. "But, Tarothin, he's your son."

The Dark Knight waved his wife away and turned around, apparently busy with other things he found in his armoire. "Leave now, I don't have time for this noncense, Ditto.

Ditto became angry and stubborn, she shook her head hard and said, "Nau! I will na leave!"

Tarothin turned to look at her. "Leave!

Ditto stomped her foot in rebellion, Her voice loud, but hardly intimidating, try as she might, "Nau!"

Sighing his annoyance, he approached her. Tarothin still remembered his wife's stubborness was as thick as his own. The quickest way to end this argument was to rid himself of her. Reaching down, he picked her up easily. Ditto's arms still folded in her rebellion. Opening the study door, he set her down gently outside the room, then went back in and firmly shut and bolted the door.
Ditto ran to get back into the room, but had stumbled and was too late before she heard the bolt. She did the only thing she could think of doing.

For the next half of an hour, she banged on the door, calling for Tarothin, trying to lure him out with talk of Isk and power, anything she could think of. But the door remained bolted.
His words about his son echoed continuously in her mind..
"If he dies, he dies."
