When I have spare time, I also play SWG on the Starsider Server. They have established something I think we as a collective should investigate for our own server, a Wiki.

It would be a useful tool for compiling the 10 year history of roleplay on this server. It would be much easier than trying to dig through thousands of posts for information.

I think getting an accurate, unbiased account of ALL (yes, all, including people that you don't like, and including people that other contributers, including myself, don't like) would be nearly impossible. Any wiki that is to be done at around this point that encompasses -ALL- of Atlantic's actual roleplay history would be nearly impossible.

But it is worth a try.

That being said, I would be happy to contribute what I know and remember.

I have extensive knowledge of the RP community dating from 97-2003, if any sections need to be filled in, I would offer an unbiased account to the majority of situations.

I would gladly put a great deal of time into the Wiki, preserving past plots, storylines and lore is imperative.

This is very possible. I want to know though before I spend hours and hours setting one up.

My immediate worry is how many people will argue over details of what happened. Already a lot of IC history has been tinkered with OOC to put some guilds and persons in a better light.

So, sounds great, but I think before you even bother Halister, you need to set up strict zero tolerence, zero strikes rules; anyone abusing the wiki knowingly in any way, shape or form should be banned from contributing/editing immediately for months, if not indefinately. Atlantic doesn't need yet another medium to bicker over, especially given how many people cling to the past anyways. Seriously, the selling point of my argument here isn't the rules I'm proposing, it is the zero tolerence policy and instant, zero strikes ban that needs to go in.

I also think that a wiki does not need a ton and a half of admins since it will be a lot less active. I'd suggest a single admin or a team of three so things do not get out of hand, and along those lines, I suggest yourself (Halister) and one GM from each ARPC and FAR, and a rule that if the ARPC and FAR GMs do not agree, you get sole decision power as to what stays and what goes.

My 2 cents on the situation. If it works out we should have an excellent resource of the history of Atlantic roleplay, and not a collection of these:

P.S., I also think that there should be a Stratics rule and you shouldn't be allowed to do articles on your own characters or a guild that you guildmaster without review from someone in charge. More two cents, but thats just what I think.
