Drayden sat alone in his home, tired..utterly exhausted from the past few weeks of events that had come to pass. It was apparant that none in this world come come to a reasonable conclusion regarding what the state of the realm was in and what would be done. Those who had assembled together, in hopes of working with a government that had turned their back on them. And after these past few days, of constantly sending missives, losing his messengers due to Umbran and Humanis intereference was wearing on the dark elf's nerves.
As he stood on his balcony, softly puffing on Trinsic's finest pipe weed, a great sigh was expelled. A sigh that let all of the worries and anxiety this mess had caused flow from him. The sun was rising. This was perhaps the third...or was it the second? Drayden shrugged at the thought, all he knew was that he had not slept in some time. His attempt at the redemption of an Order that could stand for order and balance had failed. He was still committed to this cause. He would never be steered from that.
These thoughts did not ease the old mage's emotions nearly at all. He had seen something in everyone that he had not seen before. At least those that gave the Rebellion credit, and he reasoned that none of their actions would be forgotten, though not necessarily thought fondly of.
He would miss his time, here in this facet of Britannia. Perhaps the powers that be dismissed such open revolt as a minor nuisance. Or perhaps these people felt that Order and Balance existed already and no need of change would be approached by any means. Whatever the reasoning, his time here in this calm area of Trammell were done. His time here was finished and it was obvious that no one needed his assistance in bringing sanity to this place.
His brain was turning the events over as he slowly sat upon the loveseat on the balcony. Perhaps it was time to turn his eyes to other more pressing matters in the world.
A smile spread across his face, as he saw a familiar figure in black riding towards his home.He spoke quietly to himself at this point, "Ahh yes my brother, you have come to whisk me away. I am sure you have much to report and even more planned for the road ahead." With that said, almost affirming it to himself perhaps, Drayden walked inside, and began to gather his belongings, truly done with the chaos of this land.. |
