The very thought had sprung up in his mind a very few times over the years. I have the power of the demon. I had merged with it many years ago and had accepted my fate to be what I have become. His body was filled with power and he reveled in it.

Though tonight he thought on the time when he could take on a human form, during the time of the merging. The time of the inner struggle between the demon’s soul and his own. But unlike then, the human form didn't have the power the demon form did and he couldn't full control the shifting. But what if he could have both? Both that which he already has as well as in certain instances to be able to display, even if only as an illusion, that of a human again?

I had given up hope on being able to return to this realm again, and if that had come to pass then why not this? Other species can shift into a false form. Why cannot I? I must learn how to shift once again into a human sized form. Only for those circumstances that don't need my true form to show.

Perhaps…perhaps not…
