*posted at banks, taverns, city gates, etc.*

The Free Lancers begin recruiting today.

We do not discriminate against paladins, mages, necromancers, thieves, craftsmen, nor any other skillful person. We do, however, want men and women of integrity and honor.

Our mission is to ally with those in need of a little extra military aid until the completion of the job. Whether it means repelling pirates at a village, marauders at the gates of a city, or an army invading a state.

We also take escort duties, whether to get a cargo to its destination or see to it a citizen reaches his or her destination.

Those desiring to enlist should contact Captain Roger de Clare. Those wishing the Free Lancers' assistance should do the same.

Signed,

Roger de Clare, Captain
The Free Lancers

The hunter knew well that this live one was not one that he shouldn't kill. He watched as he had entered onto the land. Without hesitating the shadow wraith loosend two arrows into it's back.

The live one stumbled to the ground, barely moving but turned it's head to look upon the attacker. Once it saw the hunter move in, the live one's face opened up in that of extreme fear.

Daerauko reached out it's hands towards the last bit of color still remaining and once again, like what happened a long time ago, black tendrils shot out from it's reach to sink into that of the live ones spirit.

An audible scream erupted from it's victum before silencing seconds later. The face frozen in horror. The color turning black. The power to corrupt has returned since old masters have returned.

The power to snuff out that of light to that of darkness and shadows.

The power to... create others like him once more...

Seeing now only shadows before him. He bid the new addition to rise, and informed it what it must do.

*The messenger and the message never reached the town of Dark Cove. Nor was ever heard from again.*

A Dark Cove minion overheard Captain de Clare's grief when told his messenger to Dark Cove was slain.

He heard the Captain say he would ride into Dark Cove himself to post the recruiting poster on the gates of Dark Cove and the Dark Citadel.

The minion told those in Dark Cove what he heard.

(I'll make this ride about 9:30 pm CST, Tuesday night, Oct 23)

Imryrr was standing on the docks, gazing out upon the chilled ocean while she gathered her thoughts on the next days' training. The wood on the docks clapped loudly as the man ran up to his Mistress. Without turning to look at him, Imryrr held her hand to cease his approach. "What is it?"

Swallowing hard, the pesant began carefully, telling her the information spoken earlier. Imryrr smiled coldly, still staring out at the water and nodded. "Tell the guards to have a wooden post sharpened and ready."

Captain Roger de Clare stopped at Hanse's Hostel for a small repast and a little water, as suited his abstemious habit. Besides Otto and the other servitors, he met one other customer; a woman he did not know.

She asked him if he were Captain de Clare and he answered yes and exchanged courteous pleasantries. She then warned him Dark Cove had been warned of his intentions and lay in wait for him. She then left.

"At least it will be an adventure," he said to no one in particular as he tugged on his gauntlets and went outside to summon his charger.

He cast Holy Journey at precisely the time he earlier committed to and arrived forthwith in Dark Cove, somewhat north of the town proper.

He batted away a few pesky wraiths and began leaving notices tacked to doors of various houses along a track roughly along a southern path until he reached Tarothin Armunn's castle. He penned a poster on the door.

Then he rode to the gates of the town and posted a final notice, the gist being "The Free Lancers solicit both recruits and jobs. For more information contact Captain de Clare."

Satisfied and relieved that for some reason he had not been attacked, he rode away from Dark Cove.

He didn't really expect anyone from Dark Cove to enlist. It grieved him he failed to tell the somewhat dim witted messenger who died coming here on his behalf to skip this particular town.

(OOCwise: As promised, I arrived in Dark Cove at 9:30 pm CST, Oct 23. Foolish bravado from a true rp point of view, but fortune smiled and I did not see any one except Ishia, who was in Taro's castle. He made no move so maybe he was afk. Taro sent me a message (OOC) saying they waited for me until 10:30 EST. )[/quote]

As soon as they were up people tore them down too afraid to feel the wraith of the Order should they remain up. Tarothin tore down the message on his very own keep personally.

Outraged that someone dare come onto their lands not only to put up posters, but ones trying to recruit into another groups army.

I will have to have a talk with the Shadow Wraiths and the Soldiers on why and how in the hell they were able to do so without immediate death.

Moments later there is a warrent issued for the arrest or death of any that is associated with the Free Lancers. Anyone, be it citizen or soldier.
