He was exhausted. After leaving Moonglow in disgust at the Zookeeper’s stance on neutrality, the harvester collected his pay and purchased a boat. He had been fired. Not due to his negligence but due to the fact that the northern lands were in such turmoil that it just wasn’t affordable or safe to keep going to covetous for harpy meat. The harvester decided that the people of the northern territory were more important than harpy meat, so he hoped on his boat and set sail for Minoc. He had to take the long way, because docking at Vesper was out of the question. Luckily, he made it to Minoc safely.
The city still stood. The barricade had been damaged but repairs were being made. He settled in and took up arms with the northern militia and its allies in defense of Minoc. The minutes turned to hours, the hours turned to days. The militia remained vigilant but for how long? How many waves of enemy attacks could they withstand? The supplies were dwindling. The defenders were battle weary from the incessant onslaught of the heretics of Dark Cove. Oblivion. How dare they try to tell anyone what to think. Religious zealots. Oblivion extremists. |
