Lee reached deep into the back of her bank box. This was the first time she had been out of her house for several months. She had been living as a recluse, spending limited time Rhiannon and even less with Daz. This morning, however, a visit from Rhiannon had changed things, for the better.

Lee pulled a silver chest from the back of the box and blew the dust off the top. She heaved the heavy chest from the bank into Lennon’s back pack. She patted her old, beetle friend and they scurried home. Once there, she sat on her roof top, the chest sitting in the midst of her garden. Memories flooded her mind; she allowed them to come with her eyes closed. Rhiannon’s parents…the promise Lee had made…the chest they had left for Rhiannon. They had entrusted the contents of the chest to Lee in the case of their death. She was to give it to Rhiannon when Lee felt she was mature enough to handle the contents: the ample amount of gold, the heirlooms, and the letters - letters of explanations.

Rhiannon was ready now. She had probably been ready for quite some time. Lee simply had trouble seeing it. This morning, Rhiannon had talked with Lee about many things. She had told Lee some things she was happy to hear – and some things she was not. Despite the latter things, Lee respected her. She respected her honesty. Lee thought briefly of Samon with this thought. While she respected Samon for his devotion to honesty, she still clenched her jaw at the thought of his name. She did not dwell on it for long; she dismissed those thoughts and returned her attention to the chest.

Yes, Rhiannon was ready. Tonight, she would give her these long kept secrets. It was time to let her go. It was time for Lee to return her attention to Daz – she had been neglecting him for some time now. A smile crept to her face when she thought of him. She wished for his quick return from Ishlenar.

Cormamin lindua ele lle, she whispered. Her heart was singing to him.
