I've always favored the Rolyplay side of UO, over the Go-out-and-do-stuff-to-get-money side. As a result, I don't know much about the inner workings of some things. However, I've started going to dungeons and other typical PvM stuff and I'm enjoying it. But, there are a lot of things I still don't fully understand. Rather than pretending I know what the heck I'm doing, I'm asking for help. I've checked Stratics, but a lot of that information is really dated. And the UO help is no help at all.

Can I have two houses on one account?
Where does everyone get all these artifacts?
How do people get so many millions of gold?
Why do resists cap at 70?
If I get one skill up to 120, does that mean another skill can only be 80?

I'll probably think of more questions as I play, but any information in this regard will be very much appriciated.

Hi there. I'm just like you except I still don't pay attention much to the inner workings of UO, I just RP and do the occasional battle. Game mechanics aren't my thing but if you need help learning how to RP having a baby, I could give you some tips for sure.

To my knowledge, which mind you could be VERY wrong....

You can't have two houses on one account.
You get arties from player vendors like luna or something, that's where i got mine...or fighting in some dungeons or something.
People have so much gold because they either sell stuff or buy it with RL money or the conventional killing things all day, but that's overrated.
Um..couldn't tell you anything about resists.
And no clue about templates or caps either.

I hope I helped Very Happy

PM me or ICQ me, maybe we could learn together hahaha

One house, one account -that's it.

Arti's can be found in: Doom (Gauntlet) where you go to a series of rooms and fight monsters etc.. Then inside Anti Virtue dungeons you can get some other artis, not as helpful or popular as Doom Artis though. You can also buy them like Auddy said.

People can either buy gold IRL or hunt. It's extremely easy to make gold now a days. Compared to years ago, it's very easy to hunt and sell items etc to make gold.

Resists cap at 70 because UO made them that way Razz

You can have up to 6 skills at 120 if your account is...(thinks) 4-5 years old? Each year you get +5 skill points additional to your over all points. Up until 720.

I'll drop some comments. If I say nothing, beo got it right Very Happy

One house, yes, but some people still have more than one from days long past. So if you hear about people having more than one, it WAS possible, but is no longer.

There are some 'quasi-artifacts' that come from ilshenar paragons and from an artifact program in Tokuno that is not currently running. Beo got the rest right.

People also exploit and dupe and all sorts of other naughy things for gold. They deleted 15,000,000,000,000 in duped gold last year, and there is still plenty more out there from what I hear. Some individuals have entire houses dedicated to holding checks because the bank can only hold 125 mil checks.

Resists cap at 70 because if they capped at 100, it would be 100% reduction of damage and everyone would be literally invincible. Also, energy caps at 75 for elves, not 70.

As for skills, you don't NECESSARILY need to drop a skill to 80 to raise one to 120, but depending on how old your account is (as beo said, your total raises to 720 at 4year vent, 5 points per year prior to that... so 1year = 705, 2 = 710, so on. it does not go over 720, however, no matter how old your account is.) If you want to raise a lot of skills over GM though, you'll need to start dropping others. I've heard of many 6x120 templates. I used to run insanity like 120, 110, 110, 110, 110, 80 80. It works depending on what you want to do.

If you'd like help on a template, give us some skills (or just a general concept of what you want to play) and we can give you some ideas.

If it makes you feel better, not knowing how to play anymore is why my poor account sits unused. I miss the simpler time when if the weappy was a vanquish, it was leet *grumble*

I miss gm armor and pvp was based more on skill than items.

I'm flattered, but I don't even know you. Maybe we could get together sometime and get to know each other. Then, we can think about that kind of stuff. But for now, I'd like to take it slow.

You should have heard her in guild chat when we were delivering the baby. She probably learned more than she did in health class.

Not you because you ask half of your UO friends for answers!!

But ya Quint, if you need help with templates or just general question on Armor/Weapon mods, feel free to ask. It took me a while to figure out what all the mods ment and were good for.
