It has been a long journey from Britain in the Lost Lands to Zento. Looking forward to some rest and relaxation before his meeting later in Umbra, Thomas stops in the Tavern in Zento.

Deep in thought, he orders some sake, and tips the tavernkeeper well. Having seen the troubles surrounding Minoc, Vesper, and Cove, he worries for Pol as this trouble is at their doorstep. He prays that trouble stays clear of the cottage, because with her sharp tongue she would lay waste to the intruders if piqued.

As the sake and the fire warms his tired old bones, he muses over some of the truths he has found out recently. One conclusion that he has come to is that there is no "The Truth". There are many "A Truth"'s. but no one single Truth that dominates existence.

He sighs over the stupidity of civilization's willingness to believe in lies rather than accept truths that they are shown. This leads to war and unrest such as he is witnessing in the lost lands. In his lifetime, that has been one of the most painful lessons he has learned.

On his second cup of sake, he gathers his will, and prepares to complete his journey. Even if he finds no truth in Umbra tonight his communications with the matriarch of that city have proven entertaining.

Poledra stirred the fire then wrapped her shawl around her shoulders,Thomas should have been home hours ago but the old fool had yet to step in the door. Sighing softly she moved to the door and pulled it open, stepping out onto the ground she looked around then lifted her arm up smiling as a red tailed hawk landed on her arm,"find Thomas...,"she said as the hawk nuzzled against her cheek then took flight circling the house a few times then flying off into the distance.

"If I see that old fool lounging around drinking ale..he's in for it...,"she said as she stepped back inside and closed the door, walking over to the fire she added another log then sat down in her favorite chair. She had to relax and focus or the link with the hawk would not work, clearing her head she stared into the fire letting her mind become one with her hawk.

Poledra opened her eyes again and smiled faintly as the lands of Britian rolled out before her,she could see the people of the city going about their tasks unaware of any danger that maybe lurking around the next corner. As the lands of Britian faded from view the waves of the ocean began to appear causing her to smile even more as she watched the dolphins play,"such beautiful creatures...,"she whispered to herself then sighed softly as the lands of Zento unfolded,"I should have known...,"she said as she continued to watch as her hawk landed on a windowstill of a tavern, his eyes flickering over to a table near the fire.

"THOMAS THEODORE HUNTER!!,"she yelled loudly knowing full well he would hear her then frantically look around only to see a red tailed hawk staring at him.

"Damn.. " Thomas mutters to himself. "Old Lady, don't you know not to sneak up on an old man like that?" he says the to bird.

"I am trying to warm these old bones before returning home. I have just left Umbra, from the meeting I told you I had scheduled. And thought that I would eat before starting my journey." he says to Pol.

The bird sits quietly, looking askance at Thomas. She cocks her head to the other side. He knows he is in for a tongue lashing when he returns home, so he thinks to appeal to her maternal instincts.

"Pol, I am not feeling so well. I am coming down with a bad cold from exposure to this weather. And even though I can't smell it because of the cold, I am starting to feel like this fish is not agreeing with me..." he says. As another wave of nausea rolls through his digestive tract, Thomas jumps up and heads to the privy.
