Azreal stared deeply into the curious orb he had come to possess, softly running his cool hand across the objects surface.
Questions....
From where did it come? How did I come to return here?
There were many questions on his mind but of all of them the origins of the orb weighed heaviest. Even now as he caressed it he could almost hear a feint, seductive voice upon the cool nights air calling to him.
Azreal peered deep within the void occupying the orb hoping for an answer or clues to solve this curious mystery. As he looked within the orb something seemed to catch his minds eyes from within, slipping him into a waking dream.
Visions…
Azreal slowly took in this new force allowing it full liberty to flood his senses and mind.
There were trees as far as the eye could see; Azreal seemed to be in a forest but which he could nay tell. Being there wasn’t much else to do he began to walk about and explore this strange vision; he could feel the warmth of the summers breeze upon his cold flesh, the cry of a bird far off in the distance.
Contact…
Something soft and warm slowly moved over Azreals hand, on reflex he quickly spun around to see a beautiful woman, this dream was finally starting to get good Azreal thought. Her hair was the color of crimson that seemed to flow like water with her long hair caught by the summer’s breeze. Here flesh was warm, smooth and soft to the touch, almost like silk. Azreal couldn’t help but want to glide his hands across it, caress her every curve in this serene locale but this being their first encounter it did not seem wise. Her eyes sparkled in the sunlight as they caught the suns rays, they were seemingly blue but then green, the color seemed to change off and on for reasons unknown, for reasons Azreal didn’t really give a damn about at the moment.
Azreal placed a hand upon her exposed stomach and slowly walked around her, taking in her scent and studying her features. It was too much, Azreal had to get a little closer. He moved behind her slowly closing the distance between their two forms. Just as Azreal was about to press his lips to her flesh the beauty smirked and took his hand, running and leading him through the forest.
The trees passes one by one, a sense of deja vou came over him as they slowly made their way towards their final destination. As they ran a looming tower began to come into view, the tower was large and foreboding but at the same time seemed to have a strange appeal to it.
Now standing in front of the large structure, Azreal couldn’t help but stand in awe of its presence. The craftsmanship was exquisite with the outer walls of the tower etched with finely detailed markings and images of life and death. Some of the other images and markings seemed to elude him.
Just as Azreal began to open his mouth to speak she turned to him, pressing her body against his, whispering in a soft seductive tone, “I shall be waiting…”
In an instant it was all gone and Azreal found himself standing before an old ruin in the middle of the forest.
Was it a dream after all?
Azreal looked down upon his right hand, within it the orb but something seemed to be different about the orbs aura.
It seemed a bit more..
Azreal couldn’t put his finger on it but it did not matter at the moment. What mattered now was that he was standing in some god-forsaken forest in front of some ruin with no sense of where he was or how he had gotten there. This did not bode well.
Azreal spun about taking in his surroundings when something caught his eye, he could see the crypts of yew with his kindred eye and all was once again well.
Azreal turned about to take in the ruin before him and the vision of the tower from before, they seemed about the same dimension and shape. On one of the pieces of rubble Azreal could notice some markings upon it, the mystery was solved.
Looking to the orb then back to the ruin it seemed clear what his task was, the vision of the woman in his dream appearing within his mind once more.
“I will be waiting”, she had said.
How interesting… how very interesting indeed… |
