"Then you will die."

Nimrana quickly reflected on how he got into this mess.

He had spent the night in a house Ivory had said belonged to Lady Starfire, a woman he had not met.

As he dressed he heard the sound of voices coming from downstairs. He made his way to the living room by exiting via a teleporter and coming in the front door.

He saw four persons in dark clothing, none of whom he recognized, standing at each corner of the room. Nimrana pushed past the one at the door and strode a few paces past him.

There was another person in the room. A woman in mostly red clothes and having long blond hair. Nimrana did not know her either. Everyone ignored him and that suited him fine as he listened with mounting interest.

The woman told the others she would never bow a knee to them and the hooded one on the front left said, "Then you will die."

The female warrior on the front right came forward apparently to execute the blond woman.

Nimrana figured he may be next, so he quipped, "I seem to have interrupted your party. Excuse me."

To his surprise and relief, the man at the door let him pass. Nimrana spoke over his shouler, "I don't know you, lady."

Although he could care less about the woman's murder he thought he might have some fun. Once outside he recalled to Sanctus. To his delight, many warriors were in formation outside the castle.

He told them Lady Starfire was about to be murdered by four wariors in her own home. Naturally he did not know it was Lady Starfire but he did not tell them that.

Talon Skyfire himself gave the order to mount up and ride to her rescue. Nimrana hastily cast a gate for them...and accidentally sent them to the demon stronghold in the middle of the Hedge Maze.

Or he said it was an accident.

But they made short work of the demons while he cast the correct gate and they arrived at Lady Starfire's house. Talon told his warriors to wait outside and he went in to speak with those within.

Very soon, the four dark ones left without a fuss, as far as Nimrana could tell from outside. He was amazed to see Lady Starfire emerge unharmed. This did not displease him as much as the peaceful resolution did. He dearly wanted to see a battle.
