The paladin woman had spent six days tending the
shelves in the First Library of Britain. On the sixth
day, her eyes began to view the words of each binding
indistinctly. At each forenoon she could be found within
the bantam edifice, scouring the shelves, repairing bindings,
and scripting replacements. On this sixth day the curator,
visiting from the larger athenaeum in the mother city,
placed his hand upon the paladin woman's shoulder,
" My Lady, repose yourself. Join me for a meal, that
I may show the city's appreciation of your commitment."
LaBelle looked up from her place on the lowest surface
of the room, "As My Lord wishes." She nodded and
bent over once more to the pile of books at her side.
The finely dressed curator hesitated momentarily,
watching as with careful stroke of hand the lady
mended an old covering.

LaBelle sifted through multitudes of bindings, "The Strange Egg",
"Willowford", "Artificers of Old", "Sanctuary", "Regent's
Address To The People". Beyond the vesper hour and any
meal she may have shared with the curator; did the
paladin woman remain in the library. It was at the
dawn's break she would depart, and with many works
to complete before doing so. She settled into her place
on the floor after lighting many lanterns and accepting
a bread loaf from a citizen child.

It is into the seventh day that the lady could still be
found tending books, and the shelves that house them.
