Closing the door to Tarothin's study after exiting, Ditto leaned against it and closed her eyes tight with hope.
Her first first mission, after Tarothin released her from Imryrr's house "protection" had been one of her most beloved friends, Starfire. Starfire had helped her grow up in a sense in the time they'd spent together long ago. Tarothin's manipulation of Ditto had caused her to unwittingly use Starfire to aid Taro in destroying another friend's home. It was that same act that had caused Tarothin to finally voice his feelings for his then friend, Ditto. So, to her, Star was apart of Tarothin and herself realizing their love.
She would not trick Starfire. She would not trick her husband. Honesty would be the dealings here. At least, honesty from her. Tarothin was not so honest with his one time sister, and perhaps now Starfire, maybe not so honest as well. Only the future would tell. Ditto thought that it would be the only way that both of the people she cared about could get what they wanted without anymore bloodshed.
It was a family affair. Distant family perhaps, but still, family. Starfire was Tarothin's sister, and would always be so. If the two could mutually respect each other, then the two could co-exist together. And if Ditto had to use honesty to make it so, then she would stoop to using it. She loved both enough to do so.

Hope lingered in her heart still when Ditto opened her eyes. And now other matters of importance called. The ships she had bought for her chicken army were to be taken to sea, empty and clean, to a place that needed them now more than the chickens did. Magincia.
This was not an act of charity. This was not an act of the Dark Order. This was simply a response to a need in Ditto's mind.
Though he continued to call the lady Melnibone, an elf, Ditto had never felt insulted by the Magnate. Isk had never been mean hearted toward her. He had always been simply and beautifully, Isk. His closed mind in the matter of different races wasn't as closed as others might have commented.
The way his tone carried when he spoke of his people's plight had affected her. It was a tone of great care and concern, and it was no act. No showy display by a titled ruler. It was the emotion of a digified man with pride. Plain and simple.
Two cargo ships to aid his people in getting supplies or transportation, in any way the Magnate saw fit. She would try to find anyone who had fled Magincia and gotten lost in the turmoil, and bring that word, if any, back to him. She also informed her husband, of Magincia's needs. Given the political changes, and the fact that the two had yet to discuss those changes, Ditto was uncertain if Tarothin would aid him or not. If it had not been for the announcement by the Protected People, as she called them, Tarothin would have wasted no time and sparred no expense to get Isk whatever he would need, if asked. However, The Protection People, as she called them that too, may have changed his attitude. Perhaps she should try to plant herself in their meeting. Whether or not the two powers went to war, mattered not to her. Helping the refugees did.

Privateers. An odd word. They were like pirates, but not. They were like mercenaries, but loved the sea. Should they then be considered Private Pirates or perhaps Private Mercenaries? And what about them was so private anyway? They seemed rather open and boistrous to her the other night. Ditto pondered this as she walked across the room to the bed and began making it up nice and tidy. So deep in her ponderings, she didn't notice what she was doing until it was too late. Humming a sweet sea song, she walked over to her writing desk and began dusting it. An object, reminding her of the Privateers, caught her attention and she picked up her carved little gift. Holding it close to her and smiling, she turned to lean buttocks against the desk for support and gazed over at the bed.
Horrified at what she saw, Ditto dropped what she was holding.
ACKKKK!
She ran back over toward the study door, but tripped over the polar bear rug and toppled over. While trying to get back up, she looked over her shoulder at the bed and saw it again. She began calling frantically for her husband inside the other room. All the while thinking back on earlier that eve and her chat with her sister, Ceinwyn. Ceinwyn must have unwittingly done this! It was the only explanation she could think of.
Screaming even louder for Tarothin, she lost her footing in her scrambling to get up and flee. She thought how only true insanity could cause her to make the bed or....dust the desk! Clean for no reason at all!! She hadn't been asked to. Hadn't been made to. She had wanted to. Shock of this realization stopped her struggle to stand as she pondered,.. could she now indeed be insane? She'd been told there was no known cure. Voices in her head would be a sign of this. Oh dear Chaos! ....yep, definatly she had had voices in her head before. And she was cleaning. Work. Ceinwyn did say something about work.
Clamping her hands over her mouth, Ditto tried to be as quiet as she could. It had only been a few seconds since her frantic calls to her husband, but, perhaps if she suddenly made no sound, no noise at all, he wouldn't come. He wouldn't know, and if he stayed away from her he wouldn't get ....infected. OH dear Arioch, what terrible thing would she cause if Tarothin, infected by Blackrock, was unleashed upon the world? _________________ **************************************
