UMBRA PREVAILS, WARLORD KILANA RETURNED! BUT AT WHAT COST!

It was sung out by the town criers, as Merci passed, and for a moment the prior evenings events struck out at her. They had retrieved Keldril from the hands of Lord Bleddyn, the very virtuous and upright....Lycan.

He knew well of their goals, what they wished to acheive what Merci and Myrddin dreamed of claiming for Umbra. Yet though many of his soldiers were dead, and one was being tortured for information. It had once more cost something very dear, something very dear to the Warmaster indeed.

Nyxanna ab'Arawn, though she had fought madly had been taken as hostage to forestall Umbras retaliation on Lord Bleddyn. Myrddin was barely containing his rage,Ceinwyn had been most displeased, and she knew that soon they must find the young Nyxanna....

... for each day that Nyxanna's whereabouts remained unknown was another day Umbra took to prepare for revenge. The arch matriarch was nothing if not vengeful when the mood struck her. And believe me, it struck her where her grand-daughter was concerned. In her mind, Nyxy was still an innocent yet.

As hours had grown into days, her impatience grew. Impatience was nothing new to Ceinwyn, however, so she bided her time. She fed her hunger without qualm, bringing home meals to share with the Sepulcher. It was one such meal that led to an interesting revelation.

She happened to be holding the evening's catch close to her on the abbatoir. As she drained the precious fluid from the man, she sliced him on his arm, allowing his blood to run onto the floor and merge with the blood from many other such offerings.

One of those offerings had been the young ab'Arawn. During their graduation, each had given of their blood to the Sepulcher, by Ceinwyn's hand. In doing so, each had become connected to the stone building.

As the entree's life fluid pooled on the floor, a most interesting thing happened. Ceinwyn, whose mind had been distracted heavily considering the possible whereabouts of her Nyxy, happened to look down at the dark red puddle. Images of a ruined building, chains, and a pillar were displayed on the glossy surface of the small pool.

Ceinwyn's eyes widened at this discovery, and she let the body of the man drop to the ground in a heap. She would make Merci and Myrddin privy to this revelation.
