Brianha sat with her hot cup of tea between her hands listening to the birds and animals singing outside the window. Although there was a chill in the air it was nice to have the fresh air dance through the small cottage. Inhaling deeply she could smell the night air on its way and knew it was time again. Putting down her cup she pushed herself away from the table and made her way up to her quaint bedroom.
Looking around she was pleased with her small house, but missed the grandness of her old house that she passed every day now. It was hard to come back to riverun, but it was something she had been away from for too long and at the moment she had no other options.
Snapping out of her thoughts she sat down at her vanity and began the transformation she had become so used to. It used to take hours to get the disguise perfect, but now it only took minuets. Her hair once a coppery mixture of browns and reds was now just brown, and she had glass coverings for her eyes made of a pale blue. She spent many months out of the sun and was now a pale creamy color. Even without disguising her face she was still hard to recognize but taking the chance was not something she could do.
Thinking back to the night where she knew her whole world would change she just frowned hoping she had made the right decision then. Vaen needed to settle the blood boiling inside, and she knew when he was in this state they could not be together for to get what he needed it usually involved methods of persuasion and tactics that were hard for any woman to agree to. She couldn’t bear to see him suffer inside, though he voiced nothing of it to her, and so she only told him he must go. She explained nothing upon his urging, she only packed a bag for him with supplies and clothes and told him it had to be. Bri cried hard that night and knew she would have to find a way to go back and watch him to make sure he was safe…. Somehow, without him knowing.
And here she was donning her disguise once again. She was no longer Brianha Frasier to those who she once knew... she just a stranger with a name unheard. |
