Zarlox stood, arms crossed in deep thought during the Britannian Protectorate meeting. It was near the end of the meeting, and the Crown Prince was focused on how Sanctus’s involvement in this organization could affect its sovereignty. Sanctus was its own nation, always had been, and always would be. But he was concerned about what the world’s perception of all this would be.

“No, my son Kainen is Shantel’s only living heir. He is the heir of Stormhaven.”
The words of his longtime friend and brother, Talon, pulled him from his thoughts.

As Zarlox looked around the room he heard the question asked, “Does anyone oppose Sanctus’s claim?”

Nothing…no objections.

“Then it is done, Sanctus is granted the lands of Stormhaven.”

Then the meeting quickly moved to its next topic.

*************************************************************

The historic Schism of Stormhaven. The greatest and most emotional rift to ever occur in a lightbringer organization had just been mended. Though in the last days of Stormhaven they were the most loyal allies with Sanctus, the two had always remained two separate nations. Zarlox, Talon and many others had left so long ago that only a handful in this room even knew Sanctus and Stormhaven had been one.
Now they were again.

But there was no cheering; there had been no sounding trumpets.

The ground didn’t shake and the stars didn’t move.

There was no grand…anything.

It was without question, the most anticlimactic moment of his life.
