Now you can purchase additional UO accounts right through your phone! If you already have an active Ultima Online account (in good standing) but would like an additional account for yourself or a family member so you can adventure together, then this special service offer is for you!

For $15.99 you can purchase a New Account Creation Code that will be emailed to you.

For more information on purchasing an Additional Ultima Online Account, click here.

Does anyone know anything about this service? I share an account with a friend, who only gives me one of his slots. Is it $15.99 a one-time fee? Does it increase the monthly charges or anything? Will it let me own two houses?

Or am I completely misuderstanding this and it would be a separate account? If so, why bother paying the $15.99?

It sounds like its simply another 'create new account' code. You'd (likely) get a free first month, and it'd be the normal monthly fee just like any other account, normal account that is activated up to ML but with none of the 7AE/8AE/etc collections.

My guess, that is. Heres the trick though: A good number of us have not used the New Account codes that came with ML. I reccomend asking around and save the cash. If I knew where mine was lost to, I'd look for you.

But what's the point of paying at all? Can't you download the client for free at UO.com?

I thought you could with, at least, KR.

You can, and there's really no point in paying that, it's a rather redundant service, especially with the ease of using a 15 day free trial code to open up an account.

Of course you can download the client. But you need an account to use the client. In the digital age, when you buy a video game box, you are buying the CD key; the the fact the software is included is just an extra, if you catch my drift.

That service is basically so you can get another account without having to track down a box at a retail store. UO has gone mostly digital download anyways. Basically, the bit about 'already have an account in good standing' is A) so you have to find a box and pay 20 bucks or whatever if you are a first time customer (so those people at EA who make a living getting boxes onto shelves dont have their jobs made obselete by the digital download era) and B) so you aernt someone who is banned trying to come back (oh, good times, when they reactivated everyones account for 2 weeks and reopened all the BANNED ones.... roffle.)
