Just wondering does this Desert have a name? I know the desert area inside the mountain range east of the lake is named the Dry Highlands but what about the desert south and east of the lake before you even get to the mountain range is there an RP name or a name UO has given this desert or is it just known as Gravewater Lake Desert? |

We used to have a name for it, during The Ministry of Shadows days. I haven't gotten around to renaming it, yet.
As far as IC, that info was never given. The lore they released was limited, containing only information about the Grimmswinds, really.

That is what Umbra goes by. |

I've been wanting to do a post and some lore about the desert for a while. Something that me and a few other RPers have established a bit is that there's a lot of nomadic necromancers in the desert. Some are groups, some are families, and some are just loners. There's always been outcasts of umbra that have inhabited the outskirts of the town, the outcasts seem to all be particularly unsavory people. If any of you have characters that are from the outskirts of Umbra or the desert, let me know. I want to get a collective history together. |

Ah thanks for the info..mainly the reason Im asking is Im about to get back into Roleplaying abit and just thinking of a family history of the two characters I'll be playing..both will be Umbra born and there brothers but one is only half brother of the other. The father of them was a true Umbran but needless to say the mother of the middle and youngest child eventually fell out of love with him and left Umbra with the two children..as for the eldest he follows in his fathers footsteps and could say his mothers in away though he was disowed from her family due to him being a half human. His mother was a drow. I plan putting him in a Umbra guild down the road once I work out how Im giong to Roleplay him. So any help on Umbra lore that the community follows will be greatly appericated so I dont mess up..hehe |

Would any of your family be living in the outskirts of Umbra, such as the corrupted forest or the desert? For the lore of the city itself, well, it's probably best to talk to Cein about that. If your characters lived as outcasts of the city, let me know their history and where they wander/live! I've got four different groups of outcasts so far :) |
