Sadira just layed there gazing up at the ceiling. Every now and then she would look over to see the sleeping form of her husband. A soft smile would wrap along her lips as she would turn on her side moving abit to rest her head and an arm along his chest and belly. She would inh ale deeply, his scent. How much better he smelt than when she first returend home. She couldn't help but let out a little giggle. He had worked so hard as usual and never took care of himself. Eating rations of who knows what and probably not sleeping enough to maintain a good healthy outloook. Tonight, something was different as well. Tonight it was Zarlox that was keeping her up rather than Bailos and his powers. She wanted to be near Zarlox and never truly close her eyes for fearing this was only a dream, she would wake up to. As she laid there, her finger would gingerly trace along his chest as she would start thinking of all the new faces. So many people she didn't know and some she recalled fondly. Of course she returned only to find out, Sanctus was at war. When would they ever cease this war. Yes they were peaceful at one time but the tensions were raising, she felt it. That was why after the birth of Ronia, Zarlox sent her and the children off to see family. That he has hoped that Bailos could not reach her if she were further away. Alas that didn't work, Bailos still visited her almost every night. Her body would shiver almost as if it could sense this wasn't the last they have heard from Bailos. The ward her husband had learned to do, helped her for now. The dreams, there were none the first night she arrived. She didn't know what he did, but she was happy that he had done it. Zarlox was wanting to possible send for the kids soon, but Sadira was very unsure. She missed them greatly, but feared for their safety. For now their enemies did not know where they were, but if they were to find out who knows then. So many thoughts racing in her mind finally tiring her out as she moves to kiss his chest and closes her eyes.

I love you Zarlox

She says in a soft whisper before finding her happy spot in her dreams.

Pulling his gaze from the courtyard below back to his peaceful wife, a slight smile touched his lips. She truly did look beautiful as the moonlight illuminated her face. It had been years since he had fully embraced the practice of the arcane arts. With his old friends Alan, Magius, and now Ragnar as teachers, he had achieved a very high level of proficiency in a relatively short period of time.

All that had been done for moments like this. To know his wife slept safely, free from any form of danger. When Bailos had first entered thier lives, Zarlox had felt helpless to protect his wife. He simply did not have the understanding of the magics Bailos employed. After she had been freed from his control, Zarlox had vowed never let it happen again, and so began his arcane studies.

Though his wife now slept soundly, Zarlox himself did not. Though his wards could protect his dreams from outside influences, it was the internal memories that haunted him. The things Ragnar had said earlier in the night held more truth than Zarlox liked to admit. Sure, he had a wife he adored and two children he loved dearly, but when he looked back at his life, all he seemed to remember was war.

"How many men have I killed? How many have you?" Ragnars words echoed in his mind.

Neither of them knew the answer to that question. There were men on all sides of every conflict throughout history who were in that same position. Men that had spent their entire lives killing, watching friends be killed, and training others to be better killers. Whatever their cause, none of these men wanted their loved ones to know the details of what they had done....what they were capable of....

What they were.

In the end, he had little to offer his old friend. Men like them were what they were. They could not hide it, they could not run from it, they could not change it. In his wifes mind, their son would not see this. Vian would know a world where men like this we no longer needed. Her little boy would remain as innocent and loving as he was now.

But Zarlox knew the truth of it.
