Yasamin had dreamt forever of funning the shop, yet she had been assigned the one shop she knew nothing of. Finally, though, she had it. The first thing to do was make sure that the Moonglow colors were available to those in the militia and citizens of Moonglow, and that the clothes to them was free. The shop had been severely lacking in that regard. For reasons unknown to Yasa, they sold mostly bright yellow and grays. She looked and decided that the Moonglow colors would be given perfect as decoration, and proceeded to decorate the building with fabrics of blue and white. Smiling at the tailors within the shop, she left, or so it seemed.
She waited patiently and clung to the shadows, sneaking back into the shop. The tailor guild mistress was speaking quietly to the tailor and weaver, and Yasa crept closer to listen.
“That girl can’t say what we can and can’t do. We will just nod and let her believe that we agree, and continue on our way.,” the guild mistress stated, her face harsh against the candlelight.
The tailor nodded in agreement. “How dare a girl who can’t even sew a stitch tell us we are doing things wrong? All she cares about is the profit.”
The weaver stared at them and said in a whisper, “I like her.” The two stared at her scornfully.
“Do you want this shop run by a greedy idiot?” the tailor questioned. The weaver looked crushed, her shoulders falling as she bowed her head.
“She seemed nice to me,:” she said despondently, and went back to her loom, beginning work on the next bolt of fabric. The guild mistress just snorted and looked back at the tailor, opening her mouth to speak.
“I wouldn’t say anything more if I were you,” Yasa said, coming out of the shadows and staring at the woman. The tailor jumped, her hand going to her chest as she stared at Yasa.
“Where… where did you come from?” she asked, staring eyes wide.
“No need to worry about that. You have to find a new job, after all. I’m thinking, weaver.”
“But… but… I’m the tailor. I sew creations, not weave silly pieces of cloths.”
Yasa nodded slowly. “You’re right. You are both now janitors. I needed a new one anyway.” Yasa stared at the guild mistress and smirked. “You are the other janitor, of course.”
The guild mistress looked at her, affronted. “I am not a janitor! I am a mistress of my arts.”
Yasa stared until the woman backed down. “Alright, and dear girl.” Yasa looked at the weaver, hiding in her little corner, the cloth half made. “Can you sew and make clothes?”
“I…I…never tried before, my lady,” her voice quivered as she spoke.
“I will be hiring a new guild mistress and she will teach you how to make clothes to be the new tailor.” The weaver’s eyes widened in shock. Yasa just winked at her and turned to the other women. “You two, meet with the blacksmith and he will get you started, Also…” She takes out a parchment, writing quickly and hand it to the tailor. “Give this to him. Our janitor got a promotion.” She gave a cruel smirk and turned to the door, her steps floating as she left the shop. _________________ (4:45:41 PM) Jarem: It becomes increasingly difficult to feel noble in my causes when my cause is to defend my charge from her own violent tendencies. |
