It was a very late evening and quit brisk outside. Alexandria awoke suddenly as she seemed to do so often in the past few nights. She quietly slipped out of bed, trying to be silent and not to wake her husband Lord Manaka, for she knew that if he awoke he would not fall back asleep anytime soon. The cold wind came through the balcony doors and sent a familiar chill through the room that Alexandria could sense.
Alexandria decided to walk out to the balcony and take in the view. With the new moon shimmering across the ocean, the stars were breathtaking - like shimmering lights in a dark world so uncertain. Alexandria took a moment to ponder and thought about the prior days events. The peaceful walk through the woods with her horse, the visit with the elven people in yew, and the shops she casually walked through near her hometown in Minoc. Alexandria was still trying to come to terms with the recent departure of her dear brother-in-law Lord Braun. He was always there for her and Lord Manaka. He was always helping with children and very eager to show off his new magery abilities to his young nieces. The kind and gentle natured man whom has moved on with his life to find an inner peace so many of us look for. It has been extremely odd to pass by his home and find new occupants residing there. Alexandria knows that it must be very bothersome for her husband Lord Manaka not to be able to spend time with his brother. The two of them were the best of friends and could always count on one another.
While Alexandria stood on her balcony the sky felt like an umbrella on a cold and cloudy night. As she peered into the night she suddenly caught a glimpse of something very bright and fast moving in the sky. Was it a shooting star or was it a sign from a far off distant land. The familiar chill she previously sensed in the air made its presence know again to her. Was someone or something in trouble, or was it just her imagination.
