The island of Magincia was dark and silent today. And also dark. A dark and unsightly wind flew silently over the evil ruins, raising a scary noise into the dark air. If you had been there you would have been scared, I mean it. Even if you can kill a daemon berserker solo you still would have been scared. It was pretty badass. And evil. Don’t forget that it was evil. So that’s what it looked like.

Isk stood at the top of the basilica that was his house. He angrily looked out from the building with anger, looking towards Moonglow. He thought lots of evil things because he is like the bad guy and that is the evil sort of thing to do and anyway I am letting you know that he is the bad guy so you do not accidentally like him wait until later good guys will show up that was a very long sentence.

The Magnate spent a lot of time thinking about the Protectorate and Moonglow and other plots going on in the com. Mostly he thought about Moonglow and the things in it. Because they made him angry. He thought a lot about breaking things and about how he would do it and sometimes he would smoke some drugs. He’d be careful only to do it when nobody was watching because that is really the sort of thing you should save up and not do very often or it sort of loses its effect. He scowled under his mask which is made from porcelain and has an emotionless face, bottom line the mask makes him look very spooky, so he looked out and tried to think of something evil to do because, I mean, well he was pretty tapped out after that Hand of Evil plot. Call down a storm of blood from the heavens over the Lycaeum, I mean where do you go from there? You know what I mean you have probably been there.

Anyway so he turns around and he says “Hey Walter.”

Then Walter (oh by the way Walter was in the room he was reading a book or something) says “What.”

And Isk says “I was thinking.” Then he sort of stops talking for a bit.

And Walter says “Ok.” Not really because it was okay but more to sort of remind the Magnate that he had started saying something and interrupted his reading and it would really sort of make sense for him to at least say something else you know.

And Isk says “Hmm. Never mind.”

And Walter sort of rolls his eyes and goes back to reading his book. It was about Humanis. Or something. Yeah some sort of Humanis book that you’d find in the library I guess. Maybe Year Zero.

And then Isk says “Oh yeah, hey Walter.”

And for a minute Walter just pretends not to hear him and hopes that he’ll forget again.

And Isk says “Hey!” and sort of glares all angry at Walter cause he was still sort of angry and stuff not at Walter but just in general but now it was sort of coming into focus.

So Walter decides it is a good idea to put his book down. “What?” he says.
“I was thinking that it’s time we destroyed Elves or something,” Isk said.
Walter just looked at Isk and waited for a little bit.

Isk gave a big satisfied glimmer from his envy green eyes.

“That’s it?” Walter said. “That’s as far as you got with this?”

Isk looked a little disappointed. “You can’t plan too much for this sort of thing,” he said and he shrugged. “Or they will say we script out plots…I figure the details will sort of work themselves out as we go. Let’s take the Protectorate and conquer a city with elves in it or something.”

“You sure about that?” Walter asked, and he looked at Isk sort of questioningly.

“What do you mean am I sure about that?” Isk asked. “Sure I’m sure about that. Why wouldn’t I want to destroy a city. That’s the sort of thing people like us do, isn’t it?”

“I guess,” Walter said. “But I am just sort of concerned that people will think it is not very original. I mean there is a city conquest plot every year. Don’t you remember the Dark Order stuff?”

Isk kinda blinked. “I’m trying to build up humanity here, not shooting for some sort of award for… original… plot… making” he sort of struggled there. “I mean think about it. If we’re going to pave the way for the coming of the Philosophe (by the way the Philosophe in Humanis ideology is this dude that will lead all humans to reclaim the land for humanity) so there’s only so many ways to go about it right? We’ll have to conquer a city sooner or later then somebody is gonna compare us to Tarothin.”

“If you say so,” Walter said. “I just don’t know about it. I’d think you’d want to go with something more impressive.”

“Impressive?” Isk asked. “You remember the blood thing right? The whole blood from the sky Hand of Evil thing?”

“That was okay I guess,” Walter said, looking somewhat uncomfortable.
“You are stupid,” Isk said.

“Sorry,” Walter replied. “What do you have in mind?”

“C’mere,” Isk said, waving eagerly toward the window.

Walter got up, but sort of slowly, keeping his eye on Isk. Isk was a megalomaniac drug addict who snaps at anything and thinks that it is his duty to bring about a glory age for humanity at any cost. This gave him a kind of weird sense of humour. Not the guy you want waving you toward an open window saying “C’mere.” But he went over anyway cause otherwise the story would stop here and I kinda still want to keep on writing.

“Over there,” Isk said, pointing toward the horizon. Well, toward what would have been the horizon but it was dark and spooky so it was sort of, well, shadowy, but Isk always sort of favoured dramatics even when they didn’t make much sense (he ran for the position of Regent remember). “There stands the island of Moonglow, in the lands of the Moonglow Town Council!”

“Anyway,” Isk continued, “they got this item called the Vortex Cube and its supposedly the most dangerous and deadly weapons ever used! The Hand of Evil! The Ebon Skull! The Eye of Mig’awashoo can not compare to its power!”

“What’s the Eye of Mig’awashoo?” Walter asked.

“I just sort of made that one up to pad out the list,” Isk said, looking sort of embarrassed under that cool lookin mask. “I was hoping you wouldn’t ask about it or just think it sounded so cool that I couldn’t possibly have made it up. I even put an apostrophe in the name to make it seem exotic and authentic.”

“Ah,” Walter said.

“No go, eh?” Isk asked.

“No worries,” Walter said. “The other stuff sounded pretty cool.”

Isk said, somewhat smugly. “Soon the Vortex Cube will be ours!”
“Excellent,” Walter said.

“Soon all of it will be ours,” Walter replied.

They looked sort of confused for a moment.

“Did I say that?” Walter asked.

“Yeah you stepped on my line,” Isk said. “Totally switched us around like you weren’t even paying attention.”

“Sorry let’s start over.” Walter said

“I don’t want to start over!” Isk said. “I don’t remember the first stuff I said.”

“Just as well,” Walter replied. “This story is already pretty long already. We can probably end it about here.”

“Here?” Isk asked. “You sure? This is a pretty lame ending. It’s not even dramatic or anything.”

“I’m sure something cool and cliffhangery will happen right at the end,” Walter answered.

“That’s always pretty lame,” Isk said. “This whole story so far has been pretty lame in fact. Why are we acting so out of character in this?”

And then they heard a sound from the teleporter and turned around only to see Isk’s clone from the Moonglow event appear!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
